The San Francisco Giants have won five of their six meetings with the Los Angeles Dodgers this season, as the two teams prepare to open up a three-game series Monday night.

Let’s take a closer look at the MLB odds for this National League West matchup at Dodger Stadium, with the first pitch scheduled for 10:10 p.m. ET on ESPN.

San Francisco is coming off its first losing homestand since July 23-Aug. 2, 2012, which included a 7-2 loss to the Miami Marlins as -195 favorites Sunday, while going OVER the betting total of 7.

The Giants are 14-22 on the road this season, including a 5-7 mark as underdogs of +100 to +125 in that situation.

Trying to put something together

Los Angeles is aiming to win three consecutive games for the first time since April 5-7, as it returns home after winning back-to-back games against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park.

The Dodgers are still a horrendous 10-23 against division opponents this season, with the OVER going 21-10-2 in those 33 opportunities.

Giants starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner (7-4, 3.25 ERA) has won three consecutive starts, including a 4-2 home victory over the San Diego Padres last time out, as he allowed two runs and three hits over seven frames.

The left-hander is 4-3 with a 3.71 ERA in eight road outings, with opposing hitters batting just .197 against him.

In nine career games (eight starts) versus the Dodgers, Bumgarner has tallied a 6-2 record and 2.53 ERA, including a 4-1 mark and 1.53 ERA in six appearances (five starts) at this ballpark.

Dodgers starting pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu (6-3, 2.96 ERA) has watched the club drop his last two efforts, including a 6-4 road loss to the New York Yankees, as he allowed three runs and five hits over six frames.

The rookie left-hander is 4-1 with a 1.88 ERA in seven home outings, issuing 10 walks and striking out 41 batters in 48 combined innings.

In two career games versus the Giants, Ryu has compiled an 0-2 record and 3.65 ERA, with opposing hitters batting .353 against him.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Giants as one of their MLB picks Monday, as they’ve gone 23-7 in Bumgarner’s last 30 starts versus division opponents.
