The New York Yankees have absolutely owned the Toronto Blue Jays when meeting up in the Bronx, which makes them the clear choice in Thursday night’s series finale. Let’s take a closer look at the MLB betting lines for this American League East matchup, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET.

Back to Earth
The Toronto Blue Jays are 8-8 this month, but still holds a 2.5-game lead over New York in the division standings due to a plus-33 run differential.

The Blue Jays have averaged 2.2 runs over their last 11 affairs, which is far different than the 127 runs they plated during a previous 20-4 stretch.

MLB handicappers will find that the franchise is 16-23 on the road with a money line of -100 to -125 dating back to the start of the 2012 campaign.

New York Yankees won its 15th consecutive home game against Toronto by picking up a 7-3 victory as -116 favorites Wednesday—the longest home winning streak by any MLB over another since 2011.

The Bronx Bombers are worth a look in the futures market to win the division, considering catcher Brian McCann is starting to produce at the plate—coming off a career high-tying five RBI performance last night.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the squad is 94-81 versus AL East opponents.

Blue Jays starting pitcher Drew Hutchison (6-4, 3.62 ERA) is coming off a 4-0 road victory over the Baltimore Orioles, as he scattered six hits over seven shutout innings.

The right-hander is a tremendous 4-1 with a 1.79 ERA in nine road efforts, with opposing hitters batting .214 against him (.311 at home).

Hutchison has tallied a 1-1 record and 6.75 ERA in two career starts versus the Bronx Bombers, but he’s never faced them at this ballpark.

Yankees starting pitcher David Phelps (2-4, 4.32 ERA) snapped a personal four-game losing streak in tallying a 7-0 road victory over the Oakland Athletics last time out—allowing two hits over 6.2 shutout frames.

The right-hander is 1-1 with a 3.52 ERA in six home outings (two starts), while not allowing a home run in 15.1 combined innings.

In three lifetime starts versus the Blue Jays, Phelps has compiled a 1-0 record and 2.70 ERA.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Yankees as one of their MLB picks, as they’ve captured eight of Phelps’ last 10 starts in the Bronx.
