The Toronto Blue Jays take on the Minnesota Twins. Odds makers have Minnesota as the home underdog but is there decent value in backing the Twins at home?

MLB odds have made Toronto a -115 favorite like at Pinnacle Sports. For my MLB pick I will back Toronto who broke their five-game losing streak yesterday and I look for them to capitalize today against a pitcher in which they have had some good success against. As well, look for starter Aaron Sanchez to have a nice bounce back game after his last rough start.

Minnesota Twins
Tyler Duffey gets the start for Minnesota and comes in with a 1.85 ERA and 1.11 whip in four starts this season. He is coming off a really strong performance allowing zero runs off of six hits in seven innings against the Cleveland Indians. In his one game against Toronto last season the Blue Jays lit them up for six runs in two innings.

If he has a little bit of a tough time don't look for any help from the Minnesota bullpen which has been one of the worst in the American League with a 4.85 ERA .  At the plate Minnesota has not done much offensively ranking 26th in the league in runs per game while batting .237 as a team which ranks 21st.

They also have been striking out too much at just under nine per game which also ranks 26th in the major leagues. The good news for them though is that they're facing a right-hander where their overall statistics at the plate go up. However, the bad news is that jump up in their offensive statistics is not very significant. Don't expect them to score a lot of runs today.

Toronto Blue Jays
Aaron Sanchez takes the mound for Toronto and comes in with a 3.29 ERA and 1.23 whip but the Blue Jays have been struggling to score ranking 21st in the league averaging four runs a game. Sanchez is coming off a really tough outing in which he allowed six earned runs off of seven hits in just over six innings at Texas.

He had a similar outing earlier in the season versus the Oakland A's but in his very next start he was lights out allowing zero earned runs off of six hits in seven innings at Tampa Bay. It seems like we have the same type of scenario for him today against a week hitting Minnesota team. At the plate Toronto has not been the same team as they were last year and they rank around the middle of the league in most offensive categories.

It is still long season though and they have all the personnel in place to put up a lot of runs in a hurry and they do rank 11th in the league averaging just over one home run per game. They do walk a lot so they should have enough opportunities to score some runs especially against a pitcher in which they have had some success.
