The Minnesota Twins have taken care of business recently as home favorites, as they prepare to open up a four-game series against the Kansas City Royals Thursday night. Where have we decided to place our MLB picks in this Thursday night matchup?

Let’s take a closer look at the MLB odds for this American League Central matchup at Target Field, with the first pitch scheduled for 8:10 p.m. ET.

Check out our Thursday Morning MLB Odds & Betting Lines Report.

Kansas City held a team meeting before its Wednesday night contest against the Atlanta Braves, which likely played a big role in picking up a 4-3 walk-off victory as +114 home underdogs, while going UNDER the total for the third time in four contests.

The Royals are 14-9 this month, with the UNDER going 14-8-1 in those 23 opportunities.

Glad to be home

Minnesota went 1-4 on its recent five-game road trip, which ended with a disappointing 5-3 setback to the Miami Marlins as +101 underdog Wednesday afternoon, while pushing up against the betting total of 8.

The Twins have won seven of their last eight home games versus teams with a losing record, with the OVER cashing four times in the last five games in that situation.

Royals starting pitcher Jeremy Guthrie (7-5, 4.20 ERA) has dropped back-to-back efforts, including a 9-1 home defeat to the Chicago White Sox last time out, as he allowed six runs and five hits over 2.1 frames.

The right-hander is 2-3 with a 4.50 ERA in eight road outings, surrendering 13 home runs in 50 combined innings.

In 11 career games (nine starts) versus the Twins, Guthrie has tallied a 6-2 record and 3.36 ERA, including a 2-0 mark and 2.63 ERA in two outings at this ballpark.

Twins starting pitcher Samuel Deduno (3-2, 3.72 ERA) has watched the club alternate wins and losses over his last four outings, as he attempts to bounce back from a 5-1 road loss to the Cleveland Indians.

The right-hander is 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA in two home starts, with opposing hitters batting  just .216 against him.

In two career games versus the Royals, Deduno has compiled a perfect 2-0 record and 0.73 ERA.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Twins as one of their MLB picks Thursday, as they’ve won seven of Deduno’s last nine home starts, while the Royals are  9-21 in their last 30 games in Minneapolis.
