The Detroit Tigers are looking to sweep a four-game road series against the Cleveland Indians for the first time in 25 years, as the two teams face off Thursday night.

Let’s take a closer look at the MLB betting odds for this American League Central matchup at Progressive Field, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET.

Detroit has won 11 games in a row, including a 6-5 extra-innings victory over Cleveland as -113 road favorites Wednesday, while going OVER the betting total for the first time in six contests.

The Tigers are 8-3 as road favorites of -150 to -175 this season, with the OVER going 6-5 in that situation.

Falling behind

Cleveland will try to avoid getting swept at home in a four-game series by Detroit for the first time since 1988, as it sits six games back in the division standings.

The Indians are 0-3 as home underdogs of +125 to +150 this season, with the UNDER cashing in two of those affairs.

Tigers starting pitcher Max Scherzer (16-1, 2.85 ERA) has won three games in a row, including a 3-0 home victory over the Chicago White Sox last time out, as he allowed three hits over 7.2 shutout frames.

The right-hander is 6-0 with a 2.21 ERA in 10 road appearances, with opposing hitters batting .174 against him.

In 14 career games versus the Indians, Scherzer has tallied a 7-4 record and 4.59 ERA, including a 4-2 road victory on July 8.

Indians starting pitcher Zach McAllister (4-6, 3.47 ERA) has failed to earn a decision in leading the team to back-to-back victories, including a 4-3 road win over the Miami Marlins last time out.

The right-hander is 3-2 with a 2.82 ERA in seven home appearances, surrendering four home runs in 44.2 combined frames.

In four lifetime outings versus the Tigers, McAllister has failed to earn a decision and has compiled a 2.28 ERA.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Tigers with their MLB picks tonight, mostly due to their 23-4 record in Scherzer’s last 27 starts versus division opponents.
