Wednesday’s MLB betting has the Boston Red Sox and Seattle Mariners continuing their set at Safeco Field, following a split of the foes’ first two matchups.

Red Sox southpaw Felix Doubront (5-3, 4.11 ERA) takes the hill as road ‘chalk,’ facing Mariners righty Aaron Harang (4-7, 4.92 ERA). Who makes for a better MLB pick in this matchup? Let's break it down.

Red Sox, M’s slug victories

Monday’s opener saw Seattle notch an 11-4 victory as a 118 favorite, edging out Boston in hits, 15-10. Mariners outfielder Raul Ibanez cracked his 22nd homer, while mate Michael Saunders poked two doubles en route to three RBIs.

The Red Sox answered back with five long balls in Tuesday’s rematch, coming away with an 11-8 triumph as a 123 underdog. Boston’s David Ortiz added a pair of doubles to his homer in a 4-for-5 night, while Red Sox reliever Koji Uehara logged his sixth save with a hitless final frame.

Doubront cashes in Anaheim

Doubront picked up his first win in six starts with Friday’s 6-2 win for Boston as a 126 road dog against the Los Angeles Angels. The Venezuela native allowed both of Los Angeles’ runs, giving up five hits over 6 2/3 innings.

Red Sox mates Daniel Nava and Brandon Snyder united to hit 4-for-7, while Mike Napoli and Jarrod Saltalamacchia logged one RBI each. Boston’s Craig Breslow and Junichi Tazawa notched holds in short stints of relief, while Uehara followed to close the affair.

Harang goes six for win

Harang saw action on the same night, lasting six innings in Seattle’s 4-2 victory as a 183 road dog over the Cincinnati Reds. The 35-year-old gave up Cincinnati’s pair of runs, surrendering a homer to Reds slugger Joey Votto.

Mariners relievers Yoervis Medina and Charlie Furbush united with closer Oliver Perez to allow no hits over the final three frames. Medina and Furbish logged holds, while Perez came away with his second save of the year.

Back the UNDER on Wednesday

MLB odds opened Doubront as a 130 road favorite, while first setting the ‘total’ at eight (OVER minus 115). Red Sox outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury (.301 BA) is listed as “questionable” after missing the series’ first two games with a wrist injury.

I am backing the UNDER in this matchup as part of Wednesday’s sports picks, looking for the slugging to slow down.

Doubrount has held foes to 12 earned runs over his last six road starts (33 1/3 IP), with the UNDER cashing at 4-2 in that stretch. The lefty visited Seattle last year, giving up one run on three hits (4 1/3 IP) as part of a 2-1 victory for Boston.

Harang has logged a stingy 1.04 WHIP and .263 OBP in his eight home starts, allowing just six homers over the span’s 47 1/3 IP. The veteran faces a Red Sox club that has had the UNDER cash at 5-0 in its last five spots as a favorite.

Seattle has been held to a .238 BA against left-handed pitching, driving in a subpar 3.55 R/9I. Boston has found itself cooling off after recent victories, with the UNDER collecting at 5-1 in its last six spots that followed wins.

Look for runs to come at a bigger premium than this series’ first two duels, giving UNDER backers a cashed ticket in a close contest down the stretch.
