The Texas Rangers land in a perfect situational spot in terms of the betting total Wednesday night, as they prepare to take on the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Let’s take a closer look at the MLB betting odds for this interleague affair at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, with the first pitch scheduled for 8:05 p.m. ET.

Confident group

Arizona has won three games in a row, including sweeping a doubleheader against Texas Monday, while going OVER the total in three of its last four contests.

The Diamondbacks sit atop the NL West standings—leading the Colorado Rockies and San Francisco Giants by two games.

MLB handicappers will find that the club is 1-5 on the road with a total of 9 to 9.5, with the UNDER cashing in all six of those affairs.

Glad to be home

Texas went 2-3 on its recent five-game road trip, as it looks to snap a three-game losing streak, which includes 5-4 and 5-3 setbacks to Arizona Monday.

The Rangers still control the American League West division, as they enter tonight’s action with a 2.5-game lead over the Oakland Athletics and nine games ahead of the surging Los Angeles Angels.

It’s important to point out that the team has compiled a perfect 8-0 record at home when the total is 9 to 9.5, with the UNDER going 5-2-1 in that situation.

Diamondbacks starting pitcher Brandon McCarthy (2-3, 4.36 ERA) has captured back-to-back wins, including a 5-2 home victory over the San Diego Padres last time out, as he surrendered just a single run and five hits over seven innings.

The right-hander is 1-1 with a 3.55 ERA in four road outings, with opposing hitters batting .280 against him.

In 11 career games (nine starts) versus the Rangers, McCarthy has tallied a 2-4 record and 3.97 ERA.

Rangers starting pitcher Justin Grimm (4-3, 4.05 ERA) has won back-to-back starts, including a 9-5 road victory over the Seattle Mariners last time out, as he allowed three runs and 10 hits over 6.1 frames.

The right-hander is 2-1 with a 2.79 ERA in three home efforts, surrendering just a single home run in 19.1 combined innings of work.

Grimm will be making his first career appearance versus the Diamondbacks.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Rangers as one of their MLB picks Wednesday, as they’ve won six of seven games following an off day this season, while the Diamondbacks have dropped four of their last five interleague road games.

MLB Pick:  Texas Rangers -130
