Find out why our handicappers are adding the 'Under' to our MLB picks in tonight's matchup between the Baltimore Orioles and the Cleveland Indians.

The Cleveland Indians held on for Tuesday’s 4-3 victory over the Baltimore Orioles, surviving a late surge to collect as 111 home dogs. Wednesday’s MLB betting has the set’s rubber finale slated, with Indians righty Zach McAllister (7-8, 3.81 ERA) meeting Orioles left-hander Zach Britton (2-3, 4.76 ERA).

Check out our Wednesday Morning MLB Odds & Betting Lines Report.

Indians, Gomes even series

Indians catcher Yan Gomes drilled a two-run double in Tuesday’s triumph, scoring mates Michael Brantley and Matt Carson. Cleveland’s Chris Perez anchored a trio of relievers, giving up three late runs in the contest’s final frame.

Baltimore’s Brian Roberts was held to a 0-for-5 night from the leadoff spot, while mate Adam Jones left three men on base batting cleanup. The battle’s combined seven runs ducked below the ‘total’ of eight, splitting the ‘total’ in the series’ first two affairs.

McAllister shelled early

McAllister saw a streak of three wins end with Friday’s 7-2 loss for Cleveland to the Detroit Tigers, falling as a 134 road dog. The 25-year-old allowed five runs on six hits, departing after 3 2/3 innings.

Indians first baseman Nick Swisher poked a pair of doubles in a 2-for-4 night, while Jason Kipnis left two men on base en route to hitting 0-for-3. Cleveland finished with seven hits, with the contest’s nine runs sliding UNDER the ‘total’ of 9 ½ by a ‘hook.’

Britton returns to start

Zach Britton has been away from the MLB level since July 9, making eight starts since then for Triple-A’s Norfolk Tides. The third-year southpaw notched a 3-3 mark over the stretch, holding foes to six earned runs over the latest four outings (24 2/3 IP).

Britton faced the Indians in June, giving up three runs in a 5-2 defeat for Baltimore as a 141 home favorite. The California native made one road start in Cleveland last season, holding the Indians scoreless for six frames as part of a 4-3 victory for the Orioles as 113 underdogs.

Back the UNDER in Cleveland

Sports books were slow to post MLB odds due to Baltimore’s pitching rotation shift, taking early numbers off the board. The weather forecast in Cleveland calls for a clear 76 degrees, with 11 mph winds blowing to right field.

I am backing the UNDER in this contest as part of Wednesday’s MLB picks. The UNDER moved to 7-2 in the last nine meetings between these clubs with Tuesday’s affair, while going 4-1 in the foes’ last five matchups in Cleveland.

McAllister has had his moments at home, holding visiting rivals to a .296 OBP en route to giving up just five homers over 54 1/3 IP. The UNDER is 6-2 in McAllister’s last eight outings, while going 5-1 in Cleveland’s last six duels that came after a victory.

Britton showed improvement toward the end of his recent stretch with Norfolk, while holding his own in past matchups with Cleveland. The UNDER is 6-0-1 in Britton’s last seven starts against American League Central clubs, while the Orioles have seen the UNDER collect at 4-1 in their last five road dates against righty starters.

Umpire Mike DiMuro has cashed UNDER tickets at a 6-3-1 clip through his last 10 called games, including a 4-3 road loss for Baltimore against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Look for the UNDER to cash again here, adding to the 4-0 mark for the wager in Cleveland’s last four Game 3’s of a series.
