The Baltimore Orioles have been scoring runs in bunches on the road recently, which should lead them to victory over the Washington Nationals Tuesday night.

Let’s take a closer look at the MLB betting odds for this interleague matchup at Nationals Park, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET.

Getting it done offensively

Baltimore has won three of five games on its current road trip, including a 6-2 victory over Washington as +115 underdogs Monday, while going OVER the total in each of those contests.

The Orioles have plated five or more runs in 10 consecutive road games—the first time they’ve accomplished such a feat in franchise history.

Falling into a patte rn

Washington has alternated wins and losses over its last four games, with the OVER going 4-0 during that span.  The club is 23-16 versus AL opponents since 2011, including a 5-1 mark in 2013.

The Nationals have compiled a losing 14-15 record against teams with a winning record this season, which is a bit disappointing for a team that was favored to win the National League East.

Orioles starting pitcher Kevin Gausman (0-1, 7.20 ERA) is set to make his second career MLB appearance, as he suffered a 12-6 road loss to the Toronto Blue Jays in his debut—allowing four runs and seven hits over five frames.

The 22-year-old right-hander was the franchise’s No. 2 prospect entering the year—posting a 3.11 ERA and striking out 49 batters in eight starts with Double-A Bowie.

Nationals starting pitcher Nate Karns will be making his MLB debut in this affair, as he entered Spring Training as the club’s No. 6 prospect—compiling a 2.70 ERA in three Minor League seasons.

The right-hander has gone 4-2 with a 4.60 ERA in nine starts with Double-A Harrisburg this season.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Orioles in the first five innings as one of their MLB picks Tuesday, as they currently lead the majors in first-inning run differential, which could prove to be the difference in the early going.

Baltimore has also won its last seven road games versus a team with a winning home record, while the Nationals have dropped four of five games when opposed by a rookie pitcher this season.
