The Astros losing streak came to a close last night against the Athletics. Can they repeat their fortunes in Wednesday's series finale?

The Houston Astros ended a six-game losing streak with Tuesday’s 5-4 win over the Oakland Athletics, cashing at +155 betting odds to even the set at Minute Maid Park. Wednesday’s finale has Houston’s Bud Norris (6-9, 3.91 ERA) facing Oakland’s A.J. Griffin (8-7, 3.82 ERA) in a duel of righties.

Astros, Dominguez rally in ninth

Astros third baseman Matt Dominguez cracked a two-run homer in Tuesday’s ninth inning, tying the matchup, 4-4. Houston’s Jonathan Villar later scored his club’s winning run, following a double as part of a 3-for-4 night.

Athletics mates Coco Crisp and Josh Donaldson united to hit 5-for-7 from their lineup’s leadoff and cleanup spots, respectively. Oakland’s Grant Balfour logged his first blown save of the year, following a hitless eighth frame from setup man Sean Doolittle.

Norris lit up at home

Norris logged his fifth loss in eight starts with Friday’s 10-7 defeat for Houston against the Seattle Mariners, as a +104 home dog . The 28-year-old gave up six runs over 5 2/3 innings, surrendering two homers.

Astros outfielder Brandon Barnes hit for the cycle, notching two RBIs in a 5-for-5 night. Houston edged the Mariners in hits, 16-11, including a pinch-hit homer from first baseman Brett Wallace.

Griffin falls in Anaheim

Griffin picked up his first losing decision in six outings on the same night of action, with Oakland’s 4-1 setback to the Los Angeles Angels. The second-year starter gave up three long balls in five frames, allowing all four of Los Angeles’ runs.

Athletics outfielder Chris Young drove in his side’s sole run, while mate Eric Sogard poked a double in a 2-for-4 night from the lineup’s No. 9 slot. Oakland’s Jed Lowrie and Seth Smith both logged 0-for-4 nights, with Smith striking out three times.

Back the 'Under' in Houston

Early MLB odds opened Griffin as a 164 road favorite, while the ‘total’ was first set at eight ('Over' minus 115). The getaway affair has Houston heading to Toronto as part of Thursday’s MLB betting, while Oakland returns home against the Los Angeles Angels.

I am adding the 'Under' in this matchup to Wednesday’s sports picks, looking for a tight finale.

Griffin has allowed stingy numbers away from home, holding foes to a 1.08 WHIP and .265 OBP. The span’s 11 outings have seen 'Under' backers cash at a 7-4 clip, including a 5-1 run since the end of May.

Norris has been shelled by lineups in his last pair of starts, but held the A’s to two runs over 5 2/3 frames in April’s home duel against them. The 'Under' is 5-1 in Norris’ last six home outings, while going 11-3 in Houston’s last 14 spots that came after a victory.

The Astros have been held to a .213 BA against right-handed pitching at home, while Oakland has seen the 'Under' cash at 5-1 in its last six matchups facing a righty starter. Umpire Jordan Baker is slated behind home plate, with the 'Under' going 5-3 in the Oklahoma native’s last eight called games.

Look for these 'Under' trends to hold up down the stretch here, ending the series with some low octane.
