We’re going to examine the Saturday matinee contest between the Yankees and Mets. Go inside to read our insightful betting preview article which culminates with a money line pick.

Another Chapter in the “Subway Series”
The Yankees and Mets meet in their second of a three game series on Saturday. The opening pitch at City Field in Flushing is slated for 1:05 PM ET. The Mets were a 5-1 winner on Friday night, and their magic number to clinch the NL East is now down to 8. It was the first win in three tries this season for the Mets against their across town rivals. These teams have seen all four games played at Citi Field since 2013 stay under the total.

Starting Pitchers
Michael Pineda will get the start today for the Yankees. The young right-hander has been erratic over his previous six starts, posting a lousy 6.21 ERA while surrendering 8 home runs in 33 1/3 innings. Pineda has made one career start (4/24/2014) versus the Mets, allowed 1 earned run on 5 hits in 7 2/3 innings during a 6-1 Yankees win.

Noah Syndergaard has displayed very good form during his previous three starts, compiling an excellent 0.85 WHIP and 5:1 strikeout to walk ratio during those outings. The Mets hurler has gone an extremely profitable 9-1 this year in his team starts at home while posting a stellar 2.15 ERA, 0.81 WHIP, and a better than 7:1 strikeout to walk ratio. This will be his first career start versus the Yankees.

Final Analysis
I’ve already chronicled how well Noah Syndergaard has pitched at home this season. The Mets have also dominated at Citi Field in 2015 by going an outstanding 47-26 (.644), and that includes an even better 42-15 (.737) as a money line favorite of -110 or more. As a matter of fact, they’ve gone an incredible 67-24 (.736) overall this year when installed as a money line favorite of -110 or greater. The Mets are also an excellent 29-14 (.674) in day games this season.

The Yankees hitting struggles have continued, evidenced by their poor .223 team batting average over the last eight games.

I like the home team today for one of my MLB picks on Saturday. According to current MLB betting odds at, they offer us the cheapest money line price pertaining to this wager.
