The Arizona Diamondbacks are out of first place for the first time since the middle of May, but they land in a great situational spot to earn a victory against the Chicago Cubs Tuesday.

Let’s take a closer look at the MLB betting odds for this National League matchup at Chase Field, with the first pitch scheduled for 9:40 p.m. ET.

Check out our Tuesday Morning MLB Odds & Betting Lines Report.

Road trippin’

Chicago is 2-2 on its three-city, 10-game road trip, which includes a 4-2 victory over Arizona as +156 underdogs Monday night, while going UNDER the betting total for a second consecutive contest.

The Cubs are 4-9 as road underdogs of +150 to +175 this season, with the UNDER cashing in 10 of those opportunities.

Knocked out of first

Arizona was knocked out of first place in the National League West standings for the first time since May 16 with last night’s setback, as the offense continues to struggle—hitting .194 over the last 11 games.

The Diamondbacks are 13-3 as home favorites of -150 to -200 this season, with the UNDER going 12-4 in that situation.

Cubs starting pitcher Travis Wood (6-6, 2.79 ERA) has watched the club drop eight of his last 10 efforts, which includes failing to earn a decision in a 10-6 home defeat to the St. Louis Cardinals on July 14.

The left-hander is 2-2 with a 2.91 ERA in seven road games, with opposing hitters batting .185 against him.

In four career starts versus the Diamondbacks, Wood has compiled a 1-3 record and 6.33 ERA, including an 0-3 mark and 8.40 ERA in his last three appearances in the series.

Diamondbacks starting pitcher Patrick Corbin (11-1, 2.35 ERA) has won back-to-back home starts against the Milwaukee Brewers and Colorado Rockies—striking out 10 batters in each of those affairs.

The left-hander is 7-0 with a 1.54 ERA in 10 home games, surrendering just four home runs in 70 combined frames.

In two career games (one start) versus the Cubs, Corbin has tallied a 1-0 record and 5.14 ERA, including an 8-4 road victory on June 2.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Diamondbacks as one of their MLB picks Tuesday, as they’ve won 11 of Corbin’s last 12 home starts.
