Find out why we believe that the 'Under' holds the best value for our MLB picks in tonight's matchup between the Chicago Cubs and the Los Angeles Angels.

The Los Angeles Angels were swept by the Houston Astros in this past weekend’s four game home set, including Monday’s 2-1 defeat that saw the UNDER cash for my followers. Mike Scioscia’s club remains at Angel Stadium for Tuesday’s opener against the Chicago Cubs, with Los Angeles’ Jered Weaver (1-1, 3.71 ERA) slated to oppose Chicago’s Scott Feldman (5-4, 2.82 ERA).

Check out our Tuesday Morning MLB Odds & Betting Lines Report.

Cubs come in hotter

Los Angeles’ slide from the weekend brought the Angels to a 2-6 mark in their last eight contests, held to 2.8 RPG in that stretch. The span’s pair of victories came as part of interleague action against the Los Angeles Dodgers, pulling out one-run triumphs in each.

The Cubs are 5-2 in their last seven games, including a 7-0 road win over the Chicago White Sox. OVER backers cashed at 4-1-2 in the stretch, with Dale Sveum’s club driving in 6.3 RPG.

Weaver returns with win

Weaver came off the disabled list in Wednesday’s 4-3 win for the Angels as a 180 home favorite against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The three-time All-Star allowed one run over six innings, while tossing seven strikeouts in his return from an elbow injury.

Angels slugger Mark Trumbo cracked his 13th homer of the year, uniting with mate Erick Aybar to hit 4-for-6. Chris Iannetta poked a pair of doubles for Scioscia’s crew, while second baseman Howie Kendrick left four men on base in an 0-for-3 night.

Feldman stingy at home

Feldman notched his fifth win in seven starts on the same day of action, cashing as 134 home ‘chalk’ in the Cubs’ 9-3 win over the Chicago White Sox. The Hawaii native gave up two runs on six hits, lasting for six innings.

Cubs catcher Dioner Navarro drilled three homers in the affair, finishing with six RBIs. Navarro’s mates David Jesus and Scott Hairston combined to bat 4-for-9, while outfielder Alfonso Soriano went 0-for-3 from the cleanup spot.

Back the UNDER at “The Big A”

MLB odds opened Weaver as 200 home ‘chalk,’ while first posting the ‘total’ at a flat 7 ½. Anaheim’s weather forecast calls for 65 degrees, with partly cloudy skies and calm winds blowing outward.

I am backing the UNDER with my free picks in this spot, looking for another low octane spot here at “The Big A.”

Weaver was solid in his return from the disabled list, allowing a .217 OBP and 0.83 WHIP. The UNDER has cashed at 6-2-1 in the Angels’ last nine interleague home dates against right-handed starters.

Feldman has tossed a pair of tight outings in his two spots against American League clubs, combining to hold the Chicago White Sox and Texas Rangers to two runs over 13 IP. The Cubs have seen the UNDER cash at a 4-1-2 clip in their last seven interleague spots as a dog, while the wager is 3-1-1 in the team’s last five matchups against an American League righty.

Chicago’s lineup has hit a sparse .219 against right-handed pitching on the road, with the confines of Angel Stadium not making it any easier for octane here. Look for the UNDER to get the money, with a tight duel between these starters.
