Ready for some more baseball with huge playoff implications? We are too, so let's run over the MLB odds for Wednesday's games together

Rays (Price) vs. Yankees (Hughes)

Covered by Willie Bee

A loss for the Yankees tonight would kill any slim remaining hope there was of them making the playoffs, but there's a good chance their postseason aspirations will come to an end today anyway, with Cleveland five games up and at home to the White Sox.

David Price, who's 5-3 with a 2.98 ERA since the All-Star Break, starts for Tampa Bay. He's given up five earned runs in 14.0 innings against the Yankees this season, while going 6-3 with a 3.26 ERA on the road.

The Yankees counter with.......Phil Hughes? With a 1-9 record and 6.13 ERA at Yankee Stadium in 2013, this could be another rough one for the home team.

However, with his MLB picks, Willie has opted for the OVER 7.5 runs on the MLB odds board instead, which is trading at even money at the moment.

Blue Jays (Rogers) vs. Orioles (Norris)

Covered by Joe Freda

The Orioles were eliminated from playoff contention last night. Even more disappointing was the way it happened, losing at home to Toronto for their sixth straight defeat.

Let's see if Baltimore can re-find some pride tonight with Bud Norris set to pitch. Norris is 6-5 with a 3.81 ERA at home, but has struggled his way to a 5.06 ERA over the second half of the season.

Esmil Rogers will be on the bump for the Blue Jays. He's also struggled since the All-Star Break (5.55 ERA in 12 appearances), but he has turned it around in September, going 2-1 with a 2.01 ERA in four starts this month.

Again we have an OVER play getting recommended, as Joe thinks the offenses will show up. The OVER has hit in four of the previous five head-to-head encounters between these teams when playing in Baltimore.

Astros (Keuchel) vs. Rangers (Perez)

Covered by Willie Bee

Hope is still alive for the Rangers. They've taken both of these first two games against the Astros thanks to great pitching performances and need something similar from lefty Martin Perez tonight.

Perez was masterful in his one outing against Houston this season, pitching a complete-game four-hitter, while allowing only one earned run, in the victory. He owns a 3.07 ERA in seven home starts on the year.

Surely the Texas offense will be able to get after Dallas Keuchel, who has allowed 12 earned runs in 16.0 innings of work in September. Keuchel hasn't picked up a winning decision in any of his three starts against the Rangers this season.

Willie's run-line play yesterday fell just short, but he's doing the same play (-1.5 at -145) tonight in hopes the Rangers can win comfortably.

White Sox (Axelrod) vs. Indians (Salazar)

Covered by Joe Freda

Here's one of the teams Texas is trying to catch. The Indians are playing outstandingly well at the moment, but last night's win was truly magical.

After coughing up a lead in the top of the ninth, Terry Francona sent out Jason Giambi to pinch hit, and he proceeded to hit a game-winning two run shot to keep Cleveland in one of the two Wild Card spots. Amazing stuff.

Danny Salazar will be vying to keep the good times rolling tonight. Since getting called up he's gone 1-3 with a 3.09 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in nine starts. He fanned nine White Sox batters in only 3 and 2/3 innings two weeks ago.

Dylan Axelrod takes the hill for Chicago and he's been getting absolutely murdered lately. He has a 11.70 ERA this month and is also 1-8 with a 7.36 ERA on the road for the season – keeping that in mind, Joe is taking the OVER 7.5 runs.

Rays (Price) vs. Yankees (Hughes)

Covered by Willie Bee

Five games back with five games to go, the Yankees are essentially out of the running to make the postseason.

That could become official tonight when they come up against David Price. The Rays won 7-0 in the series opener last night and are favorites again in game two, only this time the number is higher at -165.

Blue Jays (Rogers) vs. Orioles (Norris)

Covered by Joe Freda

The Orioles sure picked the wrong time to lose six straight games. Now they're out of the playofff hunt and have to wait until next year to get another chance at October baseball.

As they say, the show must go on, so Bud Norris and Esmil Rogers will be pitching for their respective teams tonight. MLB odds-makers have Baltimore as the clear-cut favorites at anywhere from -150 to -160.

Astros (Keuchel) vs. Rangers (Perez)

Covered by Willie Bee

Another win was necessary last night for the Rangers considering both the Rays and Indians were able to get victories as well. As it stands, Texas is still one game behind Cleveland in the standings.

Following consecutive quality starts from Derek Holland and then Yu Darvish, it's now Martin Perez's turn to show us what he's got. He'll lead out the Rangers as -275 chalk for our MLB picks in this evening's matchup.

White Sox (Axelrod) vs. Indians (Salazar)

Covered by Joe Freda

What a great run for the Indians. They're winners of five straight and are in control of their own destiny at the moment. Another win over the White Sox today would go a long way, especially with the Rangers right on their heels.

Along with Texas, Cleveland is one of the heaviest favorites here on Wednesday, with sportsbooks listing them at -270 to win. Chicago is at +250.
