Check out where our cappers think the cream of the crop in terms of MLB betting value is hiding.

Yankees (Sabathia) vs. Red Sox (Lester)

Covered by Ron Patrick

The Red Sox kicked off the series in style with an offensive explosion in an 8-4 win over Hiroki Kuroda and the Yankees.

Game two will feature two big-name lefties in Jon Lester and C.C. Sabathia. Lester has been the more successful of the two this season, and his home performances (5-1, 3.48 ERA) should give Red Sox backers a good deal of confidence.

Sabathia meanwhile has struggled to the tune of a 4-7 record and 5.42 ERA out on the road in 2013, while recording a horrific 7.15 ERA in four starts against Boston.

All in all, it's hard for Ron to trust Sabathia and the Yankees here, regardless of how much each win means to the playoff race right now. Ron is more than happy to take on some chalk and will be on the Red Sox at -152.

Athletics (Colon) vs. Rangers (Darvish)

Covered by Willie Bee

This has been a disastrous spell for the Rangers and they could very well be on their way to another loss this afternoon. Bartolo Colon isn't the easiest guy to hit against.

Not only is Colon a solid 8-3 with a 3.00 ERA in 12 road starts, he's also been fairly successful against the Rangers, going 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA in three meetings. The right-hander has been a model of consistency for the surging Athletics.

Texas is letting this thing slip away right now and simply have to get a win today with ace Yu Darvish on the mound. Though the Japanese righty owns a 2.54 ERA since the All-Star Break, he's 0-3 with a 5.29 ERA against Oakland in 2013.

The Athletics enter today's game as sizable underdogs and Willie just can't pass up the value. They're playing the much better baseball as of late, so he'll be adding Oakland at +141 to his MLB picks for the day.

Giants (Lincecum) vs. Dodgers (Nolasco)

Covered by Willie Bee

Tim Lincecum has a tough task on his hands if he wants to lead the Giants to a win over the Dodgers tonight.

That's because Ricky Nolasco has been nothing short of dominant since coming over to Los Angeles from Miami. Nolasco is a spotless 7-0 with a 1.89 ERA in 10 starts over the second of the season, with opposing hitters batting a combined .204 against him.

Lincecum has obviously had his moments this season, including that dazzling no hitter, but can he out-pitch Nolasco here? In two appearances against L.A. in 2013 he's given up 13 hits and four earned runs in 10 and 1/3 innings.

And, despite this season turning into a lost cause for San Francisco, Willie has come to the conclusion that the Giants at +150 is the way to go with our sports picks.
