The Cardinals are on a roll again, winning four straight, including the first three games of this four-game set with the Braves. Atlanta had come in as one of the hottest teams in the majors, so this has been an excellent few days for St. Louis.
At least the Braves will have a chance to avoid the sweep with Mike Minor on the mound. The left-hander has gone 6-2 with a 2.51 ERA on the road this season and has pitched well against St. Louis once already. Nonetheless, Lance Lynn and the Cardinals enter as -125 MLB odds favorites today.

Jon Lester is back. He was wonderful for the Red Sox last night, giving the team a much-needed win that keeps them right in the thick of things atop the AL East. How will Jake Peavy fare in tonight's nationally televised game on ESPN?
The statistics don't seem to be on Peavy's side as he's 3-5 with a 5.73 ERA in 10 road starts on the year. That said, Chris Capuano has a poor 4.83 ERA in 31 and 2/3 innings over the second half of the season, so we could see the two offenses show themselves in this spot. The Red Sox are small -110 chalk.

Once again A.J. Burnett finds himself out pitching on the road. It'll be his fourth straight appearance away from Pittsburgh – in the first two he gave up 10 earned runs to Colorado and St Louis, but he recovered to toss a gem (7.0 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 7 K) in San Diego last week.
The Pirates will be liking their chances today, considering Burnett looked strong his last time out, but Ryan Vogelsong actually pitched well against Boston the other day. Pittsburgh is still fighting tooth and nail with St. Louis in that divisional race though, and they can be found at -125 to win this afternoon.
Angels (Weaver) vs. Mariners (Harang)
Covered by Joe Freda
Though Jered Weaver's overall numbers are far better than Aaron Harang's, Weaver has really struggled away from Los Angeles. He's 1-4 with a 5.03 ERA in eight appearances on the road and he also didn't do so well (5.2 IP, 9 H, 4 ER) against Seattle in his one outing against them this year.
That being said, Harang has been impossible to trust overall. He was 4-8 with a 5.38 ERA before the All-Star break and he's been no better (5.81 ERA) over the second half. That's why the Mariners are listed as +120 underdogs against the Angels, whom are listed at -130. The total's at 7.5 runs.
Cubs (Rusin) vs. Padres (Cashner)
Covered by Joe Catalano
An interesting series here. The Padres are 13 games below .500 but have gone 35-32 at home, while the Cubs are 55-74 overall but are 30-33 on the road. Which teams gets the victory in today's game in San Diego? Andrew Cashner and the Padres can be backed at -150 at the sportsbooks.
Cashner has been a stud at home in 2013, going 5-3 with a 2.38 ERA, but the Cubs knocked him around for six hits and five runs in four innings back in May. Chris Rusin meanwhile has been pretty solid for Chicago since getting the call-up into the rotation, having surrendered only five earned runs in 21 and 1/3 innings on the road so far.
