Rangers (Darvish) vs. Rays (Moore)

Covered by Willie Bee

So much is on the line for both of these teams and you couldn't ask for a much better showdown. Matt Moore and Yu Darvish have been at the top of their games this season, so tonight should be a fun spectacle inside Tropicana.

Darvish comes in with a 5-3 record and 3.01 ERA on the road, but has yet to face Tampa Bay this season. Moore is 7-2 with a 3.54 ERA at home and pitched 5 and 1/3 innings of shutout ball in his sole 2013 appearance versus the Rangers.

All in all, this will be an amazing way to end the series, with Willie recommending a play on the ‘Over’ 6.5 runs.

Yankees (Kuroda) vs. Blue Jays (Redmond)

Covered by Ron Patrick

The Yankees are still alive, but it's going to take a minor miracle for them to somehow sneak into the postseason.

Having Hiroki Kuroda out there dealing gives them a good chance of a win tonight though, or at least that's what you'd think at first glance. However, Kuroda is just 4-9 with a 4.02 ERA in 17 road starts, a far cry from his 7-2 record and 1.97 ERA at Yankee Stadium. Plus, Toronto's Todd Redmond has given up only nine earned runs in 37.0 innings at home this season.

Where's the MLB betting value in Ron's eyes? He'll be on the Yankees at -121 in hopes they'll be able to close out the series in style.

Padres (Kennedy) vs. Pirates (Cole)

Covered by Ron Patrick

Gerrit Cole is the talk of the town in Pittsburgh right now. And why not? Over his last three starts (a span of 20 innings), he's allowed 13 total hits and three earned runs, while striking out 21 and walking six. He's won two straight decisions and is now 8-7 with a 3.33 ERA overall.

The Pirates could really use another quality start out of their young gun this afternoon, especially since Ian Kennedy has actually been performing well too. He's given up only five earned runs over his past three outings.

If you've been following Ron's sports picks throughout this series, you know he's been very successful with his ‘Under’ plays. He's not shifting gears today and will again be on the ‘Under’ (7).

Astros (Keuchel) vs. Indians (Jimenez)

Covered by Willie Bee

With the way Dallas Keuchel has been pitching, you should strongly consider fading the Astros. Not that that's really a bad idea on any given night anyway. Keuchel has surrendered 20 hits and 11 earned runs over his past nine innings of work, with his ERA now at 5.17 for the year.

On the other hand, you've got Ubaldo Jimenez, who's been one of the hottest pitchers in baseball lately. He's posted seven quality starts in a row and is 3-0 with a 0.42 ERA in three September appearances, while owning a 1.83 ERA since the All-Star Break.

You can therefore see why Cleveland is such a heavy favorite at -250 in the MLB odds. But, Willie is going in a different direction and will be picking the ‘Over’ 8 runs with his sports picks.

Morning Odds

Rangers (Darvish) vs. Rays (Moore)

Covered by Willie Bee

The Rangers lost again last night, but were lucky the Indians also picked up a defeat. That means Texas is still in one of the Wild Card spots alongside Tampa Bay – considering they're 6.5 games behind Oakland in the division, that's the only shot the Rangers have.

You've got to love this pitching matchup tonight with Matt Moore and Yu Darvish. The MLB odds actually favor the road team in Texas here (-110), with Tampa Bay at +105.

Yankees (Kuroda) vs. Blue Jays (Redmond)

Covered by Ron Patrick

A four-run explosion in the top of the eighth gave the Yankees a 4-3 win last night, moving them to within 2.5 games of the Rangers in the American League standings.

Having Hiroki Kuroda pitching tonight should give New York an excellent chance of making that two wins in a row. Sportsbooks have New York listed at -120 to win.

Padres (Kennedy) vs. Pirates (Cole)

Covered by Ron Patrick

The Pirates couldn't have asked for much more out of rookie Gerrit Cole. He's been especially good lately, going 2-0 with a 1.35 ERA in three September starts so far.

Ian Kennedy has been pretty good this month too and has already shut down Pittsburgh (7.0 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 3 BB, 8 K), but the Pirates are still favored at a high number of -175. San Diego can be found at +165.

Astros (Keuchel) vs. Indians (Jimenez)

Covered by Willie Bee

Six of Cleveland's last 10 games will be at home, starting with a four-game series against Houston that begins tonight. The Indians have a very favorable schedule to close out the season, which gives them a great chance of sneaking into a Wild Card spot.

Tonight it's Ubaldo Jimenez up against Dallas Keuchel in the pitching department. As expected, the Indians are humungous favorites at -240 for our MLB picks.
