Let’s see what Friday has in store for MLB Picks of the Day, as profit is a priority. Let's review some of the best baseball betting lines for today!

Some MLB teams have clinched their divisions while other teams are missing out on opportunities to pick up ground in the wild card madness. Here is an MLB odds analysis for a couple great games.

Miami Marlins (56-97) at Washington Nationals (82-71)

A team that I seem to do well with is the Washington Nationals. Although fighting a losing battle, being 5 games out of the last wild card spot with 9 games remaining in the regular season, the Nationals continue to keep plugging away with win after win. This is a team whose offense is “feeling it”, but unfortunately they might have waited too long to get on track.

Zimmerman vs. Turner

Along with an offense that’s been doing its job, Washington starter, Jordan Zimmerman (18-8, 3.33) is in line to be the only 20 game winner if he can beat Jacob Turner (3-7, 3.51) and the lowly Marlins tonight and win his last start of the season. The goal for Washington is to win their games and at least force Cincinnati to earn the last wild card spot.

Zimmerman has pitched consistently well, winning 4 out of his last 5 decisions and allowing 3 runs or less in 9 out of his last 10 starts. Other than Giancarlo Stanton, the Marlins offense doesn’t pose much of a threat to this right hander. Expect a solid outing from Zimmerman, leaving it up to a capable bunch of hitters in the Nationals lineup.

Revenge or More of the Same?

Jacob Turner is in desperate need of a confidence booster. He’s 0-6 with a 4.60 ERA in his last 11 starts and has faced these same Nationals earlier in the month; he didn’t fare so well. Wilson Ramos was 3 for 3 against Turner and Ryan Zimmerman hit a home run in the Nats’ 6-4 victory. Bryce Harper didn’t play on September 8th, but he’s 3 for 6 lifetime against Turner with 2 home runs.

Washington has major momentum and aren’t mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Look for them to put a beating on Turner and the Marlins for our MLB picks.

Chicago White Sox (60-92) at Detroit Tigers (89-64)

The Elusive 20th Win…

Detroit has the American League Central Division cinched up with a 6 game lead over Cleveland and have won 7 out of their last 10 games. The one thing that they need to get in order is the pitching of starter Max Scherzer (19-3, 2.95) Scherzer has been dominant all season, but has found it difficult to pick up his 20th win of the season.

Scherzer was 19-1 after a victory over the Mets on August 24th, but the month of September hasn’t been kind to the Tigers ace. In his last 4 starts, Scherzer is 0-2 while allowing 12 runs in his last 23 innings. With Justin Verlander having a disappointing season, Detroit needs Scherzer to get back on track more than the 20th win. Scherzer will have an easy opponent in the Chicago White Sox. The team from the south side has lost 7 out of their last 10 games and is 29th in the league in run production. This is a team with no legitimate offensive star. Paul Konerko has seen better days and although Adam Dunn can hit the ball out of the park, he’s been hovering around the Mendoza Line for the entire season.

With Prince Fielder back to his old form from his Milwaukee days, Detroit totally outclasses the White Sox offensively and with Scherzer starting. This should be the game that Scherzer finally get’s win number 20 of a fantastic season.

MLB Pick- Detroit -1.5 -135 at Bet 365
