Find out why we believe that the White Sox hold the best value for our MLB picks in tonight's matchup against the Oakland A's.

The Oakland Athletics rallied for Thursday’s 5-4 win in 10 frames over the Chicago White Sox, cashing as 128 road favorites. Friday’s rematch has White Sox southpaw Chris Sale (5-3, 2.44 ERA) slated against Athletics righty Jarrod Parker (4-6, 4.90 ERA).

Check out our Friday Morning MLB Odds & Betting Lines Report.

A’s, Rosales stay hot in Chi-town

Oakland moved to 6-1 in its last seven games with Thursday’s victory, erasing an early 3-0 deficit. Athletics shortstop Adam Rosales drilled his side’s go-ahead homer, while adding a double to finish 2-for-4.

Chicago’s Alejandro De Aza and Alex Rios united to hit 5-for-9, including one double each. The duo’s mate Alexei Ramirez drove in two runs, while White Sox sluggers Adam Dunn and Paul Konerko were held to a combined 0-for-9.

Athletics closer Grant Balfour notched his 14th save, while reliever Jerry Blevins picked up the staff’s win with a scoreless ninth inning. The matchup’s nine runs jumped OVER the ‘total’ of eight, with neither squad recording an error.

Sale, Parker square off again

We saw Sale and Parker meet in last weekend’s set between their clubs in Oakland, with the Athletics coming out on top in a tight 2-0 win. The duel went without runs for five frames, until a sacrifice fly from Athletics third baseman Josh Donaldson drove in mate Coco Crisp.

Parker held the White Sox to two hits over 6 1/3 frames, while Athletics relievers Jerry Blevins and Ryan Cook both logged holds. Parker and Cook united for 10 strikeouts, while a late error from Chicago’s Jordan Danks brought Crisp in again for an insurance run.

Chris Sale lasted six innings in the defeat, allowing four hits and one walk. White Sox designated hitter Dayan Viciedo went 0-for-4 from the cleanup spot, while Adam Dunn poked a double in a 1-for-3 day.

Oakland cashed as 116 home ‘chalk,’ while the contest’s pair of runs plunged UNDER the ‘total’ of seven.

Back the Chi-Sox as short faves

MLB odds opened Sale as a 127 home favorite for Friday’s battle, with early wagers on Parker shifting the line to 125. The ‘total’ was first listed at 7 ½, moving to a premium of minus 120 for the UNDER.

I am adding a ticket on Chicago and Sale in this spot to my free picks, looking for a 'zig-zag' from Sunday’s matchup.

Sale has been stingy at home, allowing a tight 0.78 WHIP and .214 OBP over four outings. The span most recently included last month’s complete-game shutout of the Los Angeles Angels, with Sale collecting as 121 ‘chalk.’

Parker has been loose on the road, allowing 10 earned runs over his last three starts (18 1/3 IP). The Indiana native has surrendered eight homers in 28 frames of action away from home, with a sizable 1.54 WHIP and .369 OBP.

Chicago is 14-3 in Sale’s last 17 home starts, while the team has cashed at 5-1 in its last six spots as home ‘chalk.’  Look for the White Sox to collect again here at a low premium, evening the series up.
