The Oakland Athletics came away with a 6-3 victory in Friday’s opener against the Seattle Mariners, cashing at minus 107 MLB odds.

Saturday’s rematch at Safeco Field has a pair of right-handed starters slated, with Seattle’s Aaron Harang (3-7, 5.73 ERA) facing Oakland’s Daniel Straily (4-2, 4.97 ERA).

A’s, Cespedes rally past Mariners

Athletics outfielder Yoenis Cespedes drove in four runs as part of Friday’s triumph, capping off a rally with his second of two homers. Oakland’s Jed Lowrie and Josh Reddick both hit 2-for-4, while the contest’s nine runs jumped OVER the MLB odds ‘total’ of 6 ½.

Seattle’s trio of runs all came in the third inning, with Nick Franklin’s fourth long ball of the year. Mariners mates Raul Ibanez and Mike Zunino were held to a combined 0-for-7, while Zunino left four men on base.

Oakland’s Grant Balfour closed the matchup for his 18th save of the year, logging two strikeouts in the final frame. Both sides finished with eight hits, while no errors were recorded.

Harang shelled by Angels

Harang logged a second loss in three starts with Monday’s 11-3 defeat for Seattle as a 157 road dog against the Los Angeles Angels. The 12-year veteran gave up four runs on 12 hits, departing after five innings.

Seattle’s Endy Chavez hit 2-for-4 from the leadoff spot, while mate Kendrys Morales drove in one run batting cleanup. The Mariners were edged out in hits, 21-7, while the lopsided affair’s 14 runs soared OVER the ‘total’ of eight.

Straily lit up in Texas

Straily came away with a no-decision on the same night’s card, with Oakland losing to the Texas Rangers, 8-7. The 24-year-old allowed six runs over 4 2/3 innings, failing to cash as a 105 road dog.

Oakland’s Seth Smith and John Jaso poked one double each, uniting to hit 3-for-7. Athletics outfielder Coco Crisp capped off a six-run surge for his club in the fourth inning, logging one of his two RBIs.

Back the OVER in Seattle

Bet365 opened Straily as a 140 road favorite, followed by early MLB betting on Seattle dropping the odds to minus 135. The ‘total’ was first set at 7 ½, with a minus 120 tag added to the UNDER.

I am adding the OVER in this matchup to Saturday’s sports picks, looking for both starters to give up their share of runs.

Harang has given up three homers over his last 16 1/3 IP, while seeing the OVER cash at 4-2 in his six home starts. Oakland’s Brandon Moss and Chris Young have hit 9-for-28 facing Harang’s arm, including four long balls.

Straily fared poorly in May’s trip to Seattle, giving up six earned runs over five frames. Mariners mates Kendrys Morales and Kyle Seager have drilled one homer each in a 6-for-11 career mark facing the west coast native.

The OVER is 4-1-1 in Oakland’s last six matchups against right-handed starters, while going 7-2 in Seattle’s most recent nine spots with Harang on the hill. Umpire Gerry Davis has had OVER backers collect at a 3-2 clip in his last five called games, including a 2-1 mark in American League parks.

Pick: OVER 7 ½ at Bet365
