Baltimore Orioles vs. New York Yankees

Spectacular Odds
From a Yankees perspective the betting odds are terrific and that's because Wei-Yin Chen (4-5, 2.78) gets the start for the Orioles who are starting to see their chances of making the post-season slip away as the New York Yankees have been dominant as of late.

Although the Orioles still have plenty of time to catch the Yanks, the Yankees are now 4 games ahead of Baltimore, who are in 2nd place in the American League East Division. This series is huge and it starts tonight as this game has a 2 game swing attached to it. Baltimore has the better starter in Chen as opposed to Eovaldi, but the Yankees confidence level is at an all time high as they are 8 games above .500, playing at home, have their power hitters hitting well, and play well at home at 27-17. If you like New York in this game, this is a ground floor opportunity as they are just a -115 betting favorite.

Alexander Emmanuel Rodriguez
"ARod" is an a much better place this season than he was last season as his 40th birthday is just a week away. When Barry Bonds was putting up monster numbers at this age, everyone knew that he was on the juice. We now know that Arod is clean and he's been the big success story for the Yankees despite and All-Star Game snub.

The Yankees have a nice trio that can knock the ball out of Yankee Stadium in Mark Teixeira, Brian McCann, and Alex Rodriguez, but it's Arod thats the player that hits for average and he's the heart of the New York Yankees. Talk about going from the outhouse to the penthouse..... Rodriguez has managed to do that in less than one season.

For the season, Arod is hitting .277 with 19 HR and 52 RBI. He's hitting .320 at Yankee Stadium with 9 HR and 32 RBI. I can definitely see the ball carry in this hot muggy New York air for one of New York's "Big 3". Look for Arod to play well tonight as a day off is a good thing for a near 40 year old player.

As for Chen, he has rising star, Manny Machado, backing him up on offense, but he's been very consistent for the entire season. The Orioles have to like that he has a 2.57 ERA on the road and a 2.08 ERA against the Yankees. This game could go down to the bullpen and that's where New York dominates. Make New York your betting pick as temperatures will be in the 90's.

Texas Rangers vs. Colorado Rockies

Coors Field Creates Massive Run Production
Even though Matt Harrison (0-1, 13.50) and Kendrick (3-10, 5.94) are two terrible pitchers at the moment, the total in this game would be high no matter what because we see high scoring games in Denver due to the altitude level. Player such as Charlie Blackmon (12 HR, 42 RBI, .290 BA), Nolan Arenado (24 HR, 72 RBI, .287 BA), Carlos Gonzalez, and Troy Tulowitzki take advantage of this fact.

Basically, if you're a home hitter at Coors Field, you're going to have really big games at times and the pitchers are going to get crushed. I don't know why any pitcher would sign up to be a member of the Rockies as their numbers are simply going to look ugly. I've got it. It's the money!

The way that I play Coors Field is if the opposing pitcher is an above average pitcher in the major leagues, I usually take the under and it's been successful. If you get a pitcher such as Matt Harrison, who hasn't found his way, then you take the over. The total is imposing, but it's all about the venue and the Rockies opponent's pitching ability. In this case it isn't very high. Over is the  MLB pick.
