St. Louis Cardinals visit the L.A. Dodgers in the third game of this four game series and after looking at this MLB odds real hard I found a great play to cash in tonight, so follow along.

The line is real low at most sports books but the best value I found was at Pinnacle Sports where you can get under the total of 6 at +102 MLB odds. The number is really low, but it is for good reason.  Both Garcia and Kershaw have the ability to be lights out, and we should see a lot of zeros up on the scoreboard today.

This game should be a great pitcher’s dual but let’s touch on these two teams at the plate. The Dodgers are in the top ten in the league in every major offensive category. The Cardinals rank in the upper part of the league in most.  Both these teams can hit, but they also are not immune to bad days at the plate. In three of the last five games the Cards scored 2, 1, and 0 runs. In that same time frame for the Dodgers they went for 1, 1, and 3 runs. Baseball is just like that, even the best hitting teams can struggle.

Garcia comes in with a 2.70 ERA and a WHIP of just over 1.00. What is impressive to me though is career wise he has a 3.47 ERA and 1.30 WHIP in 109 game appearances.  He is a very good pitcher and in his prime now at 28 years old. For the Dodgers, maybe you have heard of him… Kershaw comes in with a 3.73 ERA and 1.13 WHIP. He has had a bit of a rough start this year, but at home his ERA drops to 2.48.  There really is not much to discuss with him, he is more likely to go out at throw a five hit shutout then get knocked around.

The number is pretty telling in this game.  With two good offenses and two pitchers with ERA’s over 3.00, even with their names, I thought we would get something more like 6.5 or 7.  But the odds makers are on top of this, look for Kershaw to go deep and Garcia to get in 6 to 7 innings and let that real tough Cards bullpen take over. Should be a grind for runs in L.A. tomorrow, add the under to your MLB picks.
