Left-hander Blake Snell (0-5, 5.36 ERA, 1.64 WHIP) takes the hill for the Rays, still looking for his first win of the season. Snell lost his third straight start last Friday, when he gave up six earned runs on four hits (one home run) and five walks with six strikeouts over five innings of a 6-2 setback to the Pirates.

John Lackey (5-9, 5.24 ERA, 1.35 WHIP) will get the ball for the Cubs after losing his last two starts, including last Wednesday's poor effort against the Nationals, when he allowed eight earned runs on nine hits (three home runs) and two walks with two strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings of an 8-4 loss. I'm looking at Over at MLB odds TBD here. Snell averages an atrocious 5.7 walks per nine innings (BB/9) and he's 0-3 with a 5.33 ERA in five road starts while Lackey is just 1-4 with a 5.13 ERA in seven home starts.

Mets vs. Nationals

Jacob deGrom (8-3, 3.55 ERA, 1.22 WHIP) will start for the Mets after winning his last four starts, including last Friday's incredible performance, when he gave up one earned run on three hits and a walk with 12 strikeouts over seven innings in a 2-1 win over the Phillies.

Tanner Roark (6-6, 5.27 ERA, 1.48 WHIP) will make his 18th start of the season for the Nationals and he's really struggling right now, losing four of his last five decisions, including last Friday's game against the Cardinals, when he allowed three earned runs on four hits and five walks with two strikeouts in just three innings of an 8-1 setback. It was the third time that Roark has walked four or more batters in a start and he's just 3-4 with a 5.30 ERA in nine home starts.

I'm taking the Mets -108 with my MLB picks. deGrom is 4-0 with an 0.84 ERA in his last four starts while Roark is winless since June 4, going 0-4 with a 9.73 ERA in five starts in that span.
