We browse the early MLB odds board in search of betting value on Sunday's card. Read on for two picks to maximize your profits at the end of the week.

Royals vs. Indians

Danny Duffy will take the hill for the Royals after allowing just two earned runs on six hits with seven strikeouts over seven innings of a 6-2 win against the Yankees last Tuesday. Duffy has given up two earned runs or less in eight of his 10 starts this season, he's 4th in the American League with 64 2/3 innings pitched and he has posted a 3.09 ERA in five road starts this season.

The Indians will go with Josh Tomlin (2-6, 6.70 ERA, 1.43 WHIP in 9 starts), who threw 6 1/3 innings and gave up five runs (four earned) on nine hits and no walks with four strikeouts in Monday's 5-1 loss against the Reds. Tomlin has lost his last three starts, with his ERA going from 5.87 to 6.70 in that span and he's 1-4 with an abysmal 8.22 ERA in five home starts.

Tomlin has surrendered six home runs in 23 innings of work at home and Duffy has been very consistent all season, so I'm backing the Royals on the road at +120 MLB odds.

Cubs vs. Dodgers

Left-hander Jon Lester, who will make his 11th start of the season, threw a complete game in a 4-1 win over the Giants last Tuesday, allowing just one earned run on four hits and no walks with 10 strikeouts. Lester has given up three earned runs or less in eight of his 10 starts and in his last five in a row, but he has struggled away from Wrigley Field, going 0-2 with a 5.73 ERA in four road starts.

Clayton Kershaw will start for the Dodgers and like Lester, he pitched a complete game in his last appearance, giving up just one earned run on three hits and no walks with 10 strikeouts in a 2-1 win over the Cardinals last Tuesday. Kershaw leads the National League with seven wins, 71 2/3 innings pitched and an 0.82 WHIP and he's second with a 2.01 ERA.

The left-hander is 3-1 with a miniscule 1.93 ERA in five home starts and I'm looking at 'Under' 6.5 for my MLB picks here, even with Lester having issues on the road this season, as he already held the Dodgers to just one run on four hits with seven strikeouts over six innings to get a no-decision in a 3-2 win on April 10.
