We browse the early MLB odds board in search of betting value on Friday's card. Read on for two picks to maximize your profits.

Dodgers vs. Rockies

Clayton Kershaw will take the hill for the Dodgers as they continue their four-game series with the Rockies. Kershaw is 5-2 with a 2.40 ERA and an 0.92 WHIP and he held the Padres to just one earned run over 7 1/3 innings in a 10-2 win last Saturday, recording nine strikeouts with four walks. The left-hander is 2-1 with a 2.66 ERA in two road starts and 1-1 with a 4.15 ERA in two starts against the Rockies this season.

Tyler Chatwood will start for the Rockies, he improved to 3-4 with a 4.74 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP after last Sunday's 5-2 win over the Diamondbacks, when he gave up just one earned run on two hits over seven innings. Chatwood is just 2-2 with a 5.40 ERA in four starts at Coors Field, where he has surrendered five home runs in 23 1/3 innings while posting a 1.72 strikeout-to-walk ratio (K/BB).

The Dodgers and the Rockies are among the top 10 teams in runs scored in MLB, Kershaw took the loss in his only start at Coors Field this season after allowing four earned runs in six innings and Chatwood has pitched poorly at home, posting a 5.40 ERA, so I'm looking at 'Over' 9 at Coors Field for one of my MLB picks.

Tigers vs. Angels

Jordan Zimmermann will make his seventh start of the year for the Tigers. He is 3-1 with a high 6.21 ERA and a 1.53 WHIP and he has given up eight home runs already. Zimmermann allowed four earned runs in just 5 2/3 innings to get a no-decision in a 6-5 loss against the Athletics last Saturday and he is 0-0 with a 6.94 ERA in two road starts this season.

Matt Shoemaker gets the ball for the Angels. Shoemaker is 1-2 with a 5.21 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP in seven starts this season and he struggled in his last outing, when he took the loss after giving up five earned runs in six innings against the Astros last Sunday. The right-hander is 1-1 with a 7.63 ERA in three home starts, allowing three home runs in 15 1/3 innings.

Look for a high-scoring contest here, Zimmermann and Shoemaker haven't pitched well this season and these two teams have potent lineups that can score plenty of runs. I'm taking Over 8.5 at -105 MLB odds
