Gerrit Cole takes the hill for the Pirates in their series opener with the Diamondbacks. Cole is 1-3 with a 3.14 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP but he was solid in his last start, giving up just one earned run over seven innings of a 2-1 win over the Brewers last Saturday, getting a no-decision. Cole is winless in his last four starts and he's just 1-2 with a 4.30 ERA in four road starts this season.

Zack Greinke will start for the Diamondbacks, he improved to 3-2 with a 3.09 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP after Friday's 6-3 win over the Rockies, when he allowed two runs over seven innings, striking out seven with no walks. Greinke has won two of his last three starts, he hasn't given up more than three earned runs in any of his last four appearances and he is 2-0 with a 2.66 ERA in four home starts this season.
Both teams are playing poor baseball as of late but the Diamondbacks are actually tough to beat at home while the Pirates have struggled on the road and Greinke has been dominant at Chase Field. I like the Diamondbacks at -132 MLB odds.

Reds vs. Giants

Bronson Arroyo will make his seventh start of the year for the Reds. He is 3-2 with a high 6.53 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP and he has given up seven home runs already. Arroyo allowed three runs (two earned) over 5 1/3 innings in a 13-3 win over the Giants last Friday. The right-hander is 0-1 with an 11.25 ERA in two road starts this season.

Ty Blach gets the ball for the Giants. Blach is 0-2 with a 5.66 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP in 10 appearances (three starts) this season and he was terrible in his last start, when he took the loss after giving up 10 runs (eight earned) on 11 hits in just three innings against the Reds last Saturday. The left-hander is 0-1 with a 1.26 ERA in five home appearances (two starts).

Arroyo held the Giants to just two earned runs in his last start and this San Francisco offense is really struggling, so he can silence them despite his poor road record. Blach gave up eight earned runs in three innings against the Reds on Saturday and Cincinnati ranks third in the majors with 172 runs scored and eight with 44 home runs. I'm adding the Reds +122 to my MLB picks.
