We browse the early odds board in search of MLB betting value on Friday's card. Read on for two selections on National League games to maximize your profits at the start of the weekend.

Giants vs. Phillies

Ty Blach will take the hill for the Giants after winning his last three starts while posting a 2.51 ERA in that span and allowing three or less earned runs in four consecutive outings. Blach (3-2, 3.83 ERA, 1.18 WHIP) gave up two earned runs on six hits and three walks with five strikeouts over 7 2/3 innings in a 6-3 win against the Braves last Monday.

The Phillies will go with Jerad Eickhoff (0-5, 4.74 ERA, 1.46 WHIP), who allowed three earned runs on eight hits (one home run) and one walk with four strikeouts over 5 1/3 to get a no-decision in a 4-3 loss against the Reds last Monday. Eickhoff is 0-1 with a 4.67 ERA in five home starts and 0-5 with a 4.73 ERA in five night starts.

These two teams are really struggling but Blach and Eickhoff are heading in opposite directions. Blach has thrived in the starting rotation after finding a spot there because of Madison Bumgarner's injury while Eickhoff is winless in 10 starts for a reason. I'm taking the Giants at +106 MLB odds

Pirates vs. Mets

Right-hander Gerrit Cole (2-5, 3.65 ERA, 1.20 WHIP) looks to get back on track as he makes his 12th start of the season. Cole gave up four earned runs on 10 hits (three home runs) and a walk with three strikeouts in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Mets. He didn't factor into the decision and it was his second poor start in a row. Now he's allowed nine earned runs over his last 9 2/3 innings pitched with just five strikeouts and he's just 1-4 with a 4.67 ERA in six road starts.

Matt Harvey (4-3, 4.95 ERA, 1.46 WHIP) will make his 11th start of the season. He has given up three or less earned runs in three straight starts and he is coming off one of his best outings of the season, when he allowed one earned run on six hits (one home run) and two walks with four strikeouts over six innings in Sunday's 7-2 win over the Pirates. It was Harvey's first quality start in his last six appearances and I Iike him to build on that momentum, so I'm adding the Mets -110 to my MLB picks
