Toronto Blue Jays vs Houston Astros
The Blue Jays are 16-5 with J.A. Happ on the mound this season including 9-0 in his last 9 starts and that is a track record worthy of support on the Blue Jays as they face the Houston Astros in the Thursday series finale, currently the Blue Jays are road favorites in the MLB Odds. Happ has a sparkling 3.16 ERA this season and has yielded just 5 runs in his last 31.1 innings pitched over his last five starts. I expect him to neutralize a struggling Houston lineup that has scored just 6 runs in their last 4 games combined and are hitting just .231 against lefties this season.

On the flip side, Mike Fiers has been decent most of the season but has been a bit more hittable in recent outings as he’s given up 14 runs in his last 20.1 innings of work and the Houston Astros have dropped two of Fiers last three starts. Happ has 1.16 WHIP this season compared to Fiers who has a 1.35 WHIP and Happ also has a lower FIP and xFIP than Fiers which tells me Happ has had the better stuff to this point of the season. This is a short enough price tag, in my opinion, to back Toronto and their surging lefty to pick up the road win.

Recommendation: Blue Jays -116
