After a slow start to the season and low MLB odds, we're picking up right where we started off last season and we're looking to put more loot into the pockets of our followers.

After a rough start, we've nailed our last 4 picks, including 2-2 unit picks. Momentum is the name of my game and it's time to run with it. Let's make some dough.

Texas Rangers at Los Angeles Angels
As Bad As Advertised
The Los Angeles Angels have to be very happy to get the Chicago Cubs out of the way as they were embarrassed by Jake Arrieta and company by a total of 15-1 in two losses. We knew that the Angels wouldn't be a good team this season. People think just because the Angels have possibly the best player in baseball in Mike Trout, that they're automatically going to win. That's not the case.

Trout need's players around him to back him up and this Halos club is just a poor team in general. Tonight, the Angels get a chance for a win against an 1-2 Texas Rangers team and even though the Rangers are a losing squad, this game will be a struggle for L.A. as Texas has hitters such as Prince Fielder that are legitimate all-stars.

Bottom Of the Barrel
I know that I've been rough on the Angels as they have faced the team that's expected to win the World Series in the Chicago Cubs, but collectively, the Angels are just 7 for 61 with 1 RBI. In two games, that's just about as bad as it get's and things should turn around.

Mike Trout has started off the season, going 0 for 8. Look for Trout to pick up a hit or more and be a contributor in this game as Rangers starter, Derek Holland doesn't necessarily scare me.

In 10 starts last season, Holland was 4-3 with a 4.91 ERA. This is a career 55-41 pitcher with a 4.28 ERA, but he can is susceptible to the long ball and isn't a big time strikeout pitcher. The Angels are only a -113 betting favorite and losing their first two games so decisively has actually helped the Angels bettors where laying juice is concerned.

Not The Same Player That Played 1B in St. Louis
Albert Pujols is also another culprit in the Angels demise. He's just 0 for 7 this season and since he signed that huge contract to play for L.A, a couple of years ago, he's not the same player. He can hit the long ball, but his batting average has plummeted into the 240's. I didn't say much about the Rangers because this is L.A.'s game to win or lose at home. I say that they win and get some confidence back.

Chicago Cubs vs. Arizona Diamondbacks
The Real Deal
According to MLB odds boards, the Chicago Cubs are the real deal as they're a heavy favorite on the road and facing a very formidable team in the Arizona Diamondbacks. We got past Jake Arrieta and Jon Lester. Now it's time to see how good that the Cubs really are as veteran right-hander, John Lackey takes the mound as the Cubbies #3 starter.

Last season, Lackey showed that he could still bring it as he was 13-10 with an amazing 2.77 ERA with the St. Louis Cardinals. Both Lackey will be tested as he faces the likes of Paul Goldschmidt and David Peralta, but the D'backs will also be tested as this is a 37 year old pitcher who didn't receive much run support last season as he pitched "light's out".

Fowler On Fire
We told you how the Cubs destroyed the Angels in the 1st two games of the season and the main reason for that was the hitting of Dexter Fowler. In his first two games of the season, Fowler went 5 for 8  with 4 runs, 1 HR and 2 RBI.

Fowler isn't even supposed to be the leader on this team as that title belongs to Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo. I think that the Chicago Cubs are the real deal. They can hurt an opposing team with their pitching staff and their offense. Tonight, look for the Cubbies as your MLB pick to unleash their offense against the D'backs.
