It's the middle of the week and baseball season keeps marching on. Check out Wednesday's MLB Picks of the Day as we search for an edge in the baseball odds.

In today's installment, I’m going to ride the teams that have been good to my wallet as momentum is key with our baseball picks.

St. Louis Cardinals (49-33) at Los Angeles Angels (40-43)

The Most Talented Team In Baseball?

It’s becoming something of a ritual to make the Angels a part of my daily sports picks of the day as I’ve been riding them to no end and it’s been paying off.

The Angels were one of the teams that I thought that had a chance to win the World Series at the beginning of the season and they’re currently on a 7 game winning streak. Imagine if Josh Hamilton (.223) and Albert Pujols (.247) were playing up to their full potential…

The Angels are coming off of a 5-1 victory over a St. Louis Cardinals team that’s starting to fall apart as they no longer see their name at the top of the standings in the National League Central Division. St. Louis has won just 3 out of their last 10 games.

Miller vs. Williams

Tonight, the Cards have a legitimate chance to snap the Angels winning streak as Shelby Miller (8-6, 2.79) takes the mound and faces veteran Jerome Williams (5-3, 3.21). Miller definitely has the superior talent, but he’s taken a step back the last couple of starts.

In his last 2 starts, Miller is 0-2, allowing 9 earned runs and 14 hits in just 7 1/3 innings. This is far and away Miller’s most important game of the season as the Cards are completely falling apart and facing a team that’s red hot.

Jerome Williams on the otther hand, doesn’t have the best stuff, but he knows how to keep the Angels in the game and leave the outcome up to the offense.

If Miller shakes off his last 2 starts, I expect a low scoring game, if not , then it’s “bomb’s away”.

The lower part of the Angels offense has really been key in some of these wins. Howie Kendrick is 7 for 12 in his last 3 games with 1 HR and 1 RBI.

St. Louis will definitely be a test for Williams as their first 5 hitters are hitting .307 or better; that’s simply amazing.

Arizona Diamondbacks (42-41) at New York Mets (35-45)

Matt Harvey Day

This is a great spot for the New York Mets as they’re coming off of a 7 run 7th inning en route to a 9-1 victory over the D’Backs yesterday. New York has played much better as of late as they’ve won 4 out of their last 6 games.

Matt Harvey (7-1, 2.00), who is arguably the best pitcher in the majors, got robbed in his last outing as he went 7 innings against Washington and allowed just 1 run on 3 hits and 11 strikeouts. The Mets bullpen let him down as the Nationals eventually came back and won the game.

Don’t expect that here. The Mets are hitting much better. If Harvey pitches well, expect him to pick up that much elusive “W” that the Mets lack of run support prevents him from getting.

Prado

Paul Goldschmidt is the heavy hitter on the Diamondbacks team, but Martin Prado has been the hot hitter as of late. Prado is 10 for 24 with 2 HR and 4 RBI in his last 7 games. He was the sole source of offense in a rain interrupted game. Prado will be pushed to the limit as Harvey has pinpoint control and throws in the high 90’s.

Satin, Not Satan

Newcomer, Josh Satin, has been the Mets’ savior as of late. Satin has torn the cover off of the baseball, hitting 10 for 19 with 4 doubles and 4 RBI in his last 5 games. Satin is currently on a 8 game hitting streak. The Mets certainly have a bright future with all of the young talent that they possess and the team remains a solid MLB pick

MLB Pick: Bet the Mets -170 at William Hill

(This team can be unpredictable; therefore find the best MLB odds available, and stay away from the runline)

Good luck, everyone! Let’s nail these 2 games!
