Could we see a lot of low scoring affairs as there are a lot of top-notch pitchers starting for their respective MLB teams?

Let’s check it out and see if the ‘Under’ might be a consistent play for MLB Picks of the Day for Tuesday.

New York Yankees (57-54) at Chicago White Sox (41-69)

Alex Rodriguez is back in the lineup after a 1-for-4 day in a Yankees loss to Chicago last night. The Yankees are so bad that they lost to a team with 10 consecutive losses!

The only thing that you can count on tonight is tough pitching as both aces take the mound in Huroki Kuroda (10-6, 2.38) for New York and Chris Sale (6-11, 2.92) for the White Sox. It’s difficult to believe that an ace can have a 6-11 record, but Sale is the real deal that is just on one of the worst teams in the league and that means no run support.

What about C.C.?

Just imagine if C.C. Sabathia pitched halfway decently; a depleted team like the Yankees could be in contention for winning the division. Instead, C.C. has killed the Yankees and has left the dirty work up to Hiroki Kuroda.

Enter the Dragon!

Kuroda has been a beast all season and has hit one of the best stretches of starts that you’ll see a starting pitcher have.

In his last 5 starts (33 innings), Kuroda has allowed just 2 runs. In 4 separate starts, he’s shut out the opponent. We’re looking at a major ‘Under’ because the Yankees offense can’t be counted on and Kuroda should hold a White Sox team, who has very little offense, in check.

Chris Sale is coming off of a poor performance against Cleveland, but he’s facing a Yankees team that can’t hit. He’s a strikeout machine with 155 strikeouts in 142 1/3 innings. This game has ‘Under’ written all over it.

MLB Pick: Bet the Yankees/White Sox game to go UNDER 6.5 -105 at William Hill

Toronto Blue Jays (52-60) at Seattle Mariners (52-60)

We have two teams with identical records playing out west. Toronto get’s a slight edge in offense with the trio of Reyes, Bautista, and Encarnacion, but the Mariners have a lot of “no-namers” like Kyle Seager that can come up with the big hit. The deciding factor in this matchup is pitching.

Johnson vs. King Felix

Josh Johnson was once a good strikeout pitcher for a Florida Marlins team, but that time has past. Johnson is a disgusting 1-8 with a 6.60 ERA and faces one of the best pitchers in the sport in Hernandez.

While Johnson has gotten bombed in 4 consecutive outings and 5 out of his last 6 outings, Hernandez has done quite the opposite.

In his last 7 starts, Hernandez has allowed 8 earned runs in 51 innings pitched. Because this is a Seattle team that lacks offense at times, King Felix has only picked up wins in 3 of those starts. Regardless, Toronto’s “Big 3” have had minimal or no success against Hernandez and we should see a Seattle victory as good pitching wins games.

Toronto is too good of a team to risk the run-line. We have to lay a lot of juice with King Felix.

MLB Pick: Take the Seattle Mariners -170 at Bet365

Good luck, everyone!
