It’s Tuesday, Ryan Braun is suspended for the rest of the 2013 baseball season, and the games continue. That’s baseball; this is MLB picks of the Day. It’s not to be taken lightly as it’s your hard earned money. Now let’s do it!
Two teams that have decided to make their big runs are the Tampa Bay Rays and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

1st Place in LA!
The Dodgers are on fire , winning 8 of their last 10 games and have taken the lead in the National League West Division. This is a team that’s not typically known for their offense, but have been unstoppable.
Los Angeles is coming off of a dominant 14-5 win over Toronto. They’ve outscored their opponents 23-7 in their last 2 games and are on a 4-game winning streak. There’s an open road to the division title for Los Angeles.
In the Dodgers way will be a hard-hitting Toronto offense, spearheaded by the 1-2-3 combination of Jose Reyes, Jose Bautista, and Edwin Encarnacion.
Encarnacion makes the most violent contact on a baseball that I’ve ever seen. When he’s in the right frame of mind, Jose Reyes has the potential to be the best leadoff hitter in the game and when I think of Jose Bautista, I think of a 50 home runs hitter that did it the clean way. Just take a look at Bautista’s trim physique and you know that PEDs aren’t involved.
This game will come down to momentum because the pitching matchup of Capuano vs. Redmond, is very un-appealing.
What’s so special about L.A.’s win over Toronto on Monday is that the role players took center stage. A.J. Ellis went 4 for 6 with 3 runs, 1 HR and 5 RBI while Carl Crawford looks to have his old form from Tampa Bay, going 3 for 5 with 2 RBI.
I’m siding with the Dodgers in this game for my sports picks. Due to Capuano starting, your MLB odds will even be better as this team looks totally unstoppable.

6 Wins and Counting in a Row
The Rays offense and pitching have really started to pick it up. With their 3-0 victory over Boston yesterday, Tampa Bay can take over the division lead with a victory here. This series could turn into big trouble for the Red Sox, who have been rolling all season long. This comes down to who wants it more?
Ben Zobrist has been on fire as of late, going 8 for 18 with 1 HR and 1 RBI in his last game, but James Loney has been the heart and soul of this baseball team.
Tampa has been the place for Loney as he’s rejuvenated his career. People thought that his amazing 2013 run would eventually fizzle out, but he’s continued to carry the Rays all season long. Loney carried the Rays last night as he knocked in 2 of their 3 runs.
On the season, Loney is hitting .314 with 9 HR and 45 RBI. He’s not a huge power hitter, but comes up with some huge hits for the Rays. Can you say “big contract”? James Loney can sure say it if he continues his onslaught.
Normally I’d say that the Rays would have to worry about opposing pitcher Jon Lester (8-6, 4.58). Not this time, as Lester has been in a real funk lately, losing 2 straight decisions. That said, Lester is 3-0 with a 2.96 ERA at Fenway Park this season.
Can Jon Lester carry this team to a victory? This is the biggest game of the season for both teams, because the Red Sox have had a stronghold on the division lead and if they relinquish it, it could be a sign of bad things to come.
Bet365 offers you spectacular MLB odds if you like the dog (and I do). Take the Rays with great odds and look for them to extend their winning streak.
MLB Pick: Tampa Bay Rays +143 at Bet365 (Get in while you can, because these odds won’t last!)
Good luck, everyone! I have a good feeling about today!
