There's only one game this afternoon, with the rest of the slate set to begin this evening. There aren't a lot of heavy favorites on the MLB betting odds board tonight, so it could be tough to discern where the best value is. Let's see what our cappers have to say.

Baltimore Orioles (Gausman) vs. Seattle Mariners (Hernandez)
Covered by Willie Bee
With the way Felix Hernandez has been throwing this season, we can't be surprised to see the Mariners favored at nearly -190. He'll be at home versus the Orioles, who won yesterday to keep their lead atop the division at three games.

Baltimore turns to Kevin Gausman, who'll try to bounce back after a shaky outing (4.0 IP, 9 H, 5 ER) five days ago. Willie expects a pitchers duel in Seattle tonight and will be all over the UNDER.

MLB Pick: UNDER 6.5

Toronto Blue Jays (Buehrle) vs. New York Yankees (Kuroda)
Covered by Ron Patrick and Jeff Grant
Both the Yankees and Blue Jays have won three straight games, resulting in a dead tie for second place in the AL East. This weekend's series is therefore all the more important.

Hiroki Kuroda and Mark Buehrle will be pitching tonight. Buehrle has the better overall numbers (10-6, 2.86 ERA), but Kuroda has been performing better lately, allowing only two earned runs over his last two starts. SBR has dished out two separate MLB Betting picks for this opener, with Ron on the OVER and Jeff taking New York as home chalk.

MLB Pick: Ron: OVER 8 // Jeff: Yankees -130

Detroit Tigers (Smyly) vs. Los Angeles Angels (Skaggs)
Covered by Ron Patrick
Max Scherzer shrugged off a shaky fifth inning to earn the win over the Angels last night, holding the hosts to six hits and three runs while striking out 11. Detroit holds a seven-game lead in the AL Central, while Los Angeles now sits three games back of Oakland in the AL West.

Considering 10 runs were put on the board with Scherzer and Garrett Richards starting, we can't hold it against Ron for thinking the OVER is the way to go with Tyler Skaggs and Drew Smyly set to start.

MLB Pick: OVER 8.5

Pittsburgh Pirates (Morton) vs. Colorado Rockies (Anderson)
Covered by Jeff Grant
What a disappointing year it's been for the Rockies. They're in dead last in the NL West at 41-60 overall, thanks to a MLB-worst road record of 16-33. At Coors Field, Colorado hasn't been too shabby at all, going 25-27.

Will they get the best of the Pirates tonight? Pittsburgh trots out Charlie Morton, who owns a very respectable 3.28 ERA despite having almost double as many losses as wins to his name this season. After looking over the MLB betting lines, Jeff has decided to side with the Pirates.

MLB Pick: Pirates -120

Los Angeles Dodgers (Greinke) vs. San Francisco Giants (Lincecum)
Covered by Matthew Jordan
Right now it's the Giants that hold the edge in the NL West. They're one-and-a-half games up, thanks to a recent run that's seen them go 7-3 over their last 10 games.

It should be tough sledding against Zack Greinke tonight, however, as he's been excellent (11-6, 2.90 ERA) throughout the season. Still, San Francisco has been getting quite a few quality starts out of Tim Lincecum (9-6, 3.65 ERA), so tonight's game is tough to call. Check back shortly to read over Matthew's recommended sports picks.

MLB Pick: Dodgers -110

Boston Red Sox (Lester) vs. Tampa Bay Rays (Price)
Covered by Ross Benjamin
Another outstanding pitching duel here, with David Price and Jon Lester scheduled to take the bump. Price is 10-7 with a 3.06 ERA on the year and has been getting a lot of attention for his recent dominance, but we can't forget about Lester, who actually possesses the better numbers (10-7, 2.50 ERA).

Price will try to lead the Rays to an eighth straight win tonight, but Ross is holding off and instead backing Boston at the underdog price. Will the Red Sox avoid a fourth straight setback?

MLB Pick: Red Sox +130
