Texas Rangers (51-37) at Baltimore Orioles (49-40)

Two things that intriguing about this matchup will be the 2nd start of pitcher Scott Feldman, who was traded to the Orioles from the Chicago Cubs, and Baltimore coming off of a fantastic 9 inning rally against Mariano Rivera and the New York Yankees on Sunday to steal the game from the Bombers.

Better Outcomes

Scott Feldman will get something that he rarely got as a Chicago Cub and that’s run support. He makes the O’s a better team and they make him a better pitcher.

On the season, Feldman is 7-6 with a 3.43 ERA. Feldman has faced the Rangers once in his career and held them to 7 scoreless innings, allowing just 2 hits en route to a victory. I look for him to pitch well against a formidable Texas offense.

2nd Place

Both teams are in 2nd place in their respective divisions. The Rangers are just ½ game behind the Oakland Athletics and are coming off of a solid 5-4 victory over Houston. Texas scored 3 runs in the 1st inning and they coasted along from there. The first 5 hitters in the Rangers lineup all contributed with a run and a hit. As usual, Adrian Beltre was one of the go to guys as he hit his 18th home run of the season.

Feldman has faced Beltre and Cruz before, but it was at different times in their careers and these will be pivotal matchups in this game.

Baltimore opened as a -115 betting favorite at home in the MLB odds; look for Scott Feldman to make a positive impression on this game.

MLB Pick: Pick Baltimore to win at William Hill

New York Mets (37-48) at San Francisco Giants (40-47)

A Bit Of Adversity

For the first time this season, Matt Harvey got hit hard. Harvey was sailing along into the 6th inning at CitiField until Cody Ross hit a 3 run home run for Arizona to knock Harvey down a notch. This also knocked the odds down a bit for this game to -123 as the San Francisco Giants are having one of their worst seasons in reason memory and Harvey needs to prove that he can come back strong after being embarrassed.

Harvey faces the Giants at the right time. San Francisco has lost 8 out of their last 10 games and sends an inconsistent Tim Lincecum (4-9, 4.66) to the mound.

Lincecum has went from a future hall of famer to a below average pitcher in a few seasons. He’s been average in his last several starts and this is an opportunity for the Mets offense to tee off the slim right-hander and give Matt Harvey some assistance.

Josh Satin

New York was looking for some offense and they found it in the form of Satin. He’s been a beast as of late. Satin is on an 11 game hitting streak in which he’s hit 18 for 44 with 1 HR and 7 RBI. With the addition of Satin, this definitely solidifies the Mets offense.

The Mets are the appealing choice in this game as the Giants are reeling and you can get Matt Harvey at a great price. The correct sports pick is New York.
