The Cleveland Indians and Atlanta Braves wrap up their early week, 3-game set. Game 3 is scheduled for 7:10 ET. We have been on Cleveland the first 2 games, are they our MLB Pick?

Cleveland Indians vs. Atlanta Braves 7:10PM ET
With the two home losses this week, Atlanta remains the team with the worst home record in baseball at 11-31. As a result, we will make this a continuing momentum play, as there is a combination of a starting pitcher mismatch, a major hitting advantage and strong support for our run line selection.

Betting Analysis
Atlanta was playing a bit better under current Manager, Snitke …until matching up with the red hot Indians! They are still on runs of 17-23 under Snitker, including 8-5 of late. But, this all followed a 9-28 start, leaving them with the worst record in the National League. A major reason for their poor performance on this filed has been their .634 home batting OPS which is over 100 points lower than the MLB home average of .743 OPS. Tonight, the Braves hand the ball to Joel De La Cruz. He will be making his Major League debut, after 21 appearances in AAA ball in which he went 1-3 with a 4.68 ERA. The call up is a bit premature, as it is the result of injuries to 3 members of the Braves’ starting rotation. Giving De La Cruz his due, we find him to have posted a 2.16 ERA his last 4 starts. It is doubtful that translates against the red hot bats of Cleveland.

With the 2 victories this week,Cleveland has now won 11 consecutive games, outscoring the opposition 73-25. A potential letdown, after Cleveland swept AL rivals, CWS, Tampa Bay and Detroit never materialized. The bats have stayed hot with Cleveland recording 5 or more runs in their last 8 outings. The Tribe is now 46-30, playing better than .600 baseball with a 6-game lead on the Royals. The adjustment is sure to come in the weeks ahead! But, until that time, they are clearly a play on team. Salazar has had an outstanding year with a record of 9-3, a 2.40 ERA and a .572 OPS (all among the best in the AL).

Betting Pick
We must continue to make this play on the run line with the knowledge that 19 of 23 Cleveland road wins have been by 2 or more runs, while 40 of 51 Atlanta losses have been by 2 or more runs, including 59 of 70 home losses the last 2 years. I invite you to put the MLB odds in your favor and join me in my MLB pick on the Cleveland Indians.
