Los Angeles Angels (44-46) Seattle Mariners (40-52)
I’ve been on the Angels a lot this year, getting them at better prices due to their record. L.A. is coming off of a monster performance on Wednesday in which they destroyed the Chicago Cubs, 13-2.
Simply put, when Hamilton, Trout, Pujols, and Trumbo hit, this team wins.
A Major Force
It’s very rare to have even 3 of the Angels' “Big 4” have a big game at the same time, but when this happens, they’re the best team in baseball.
Against the Cubbies, Mike Trout went 3 for 4 with 2 runs and an RBI, Albert Pujols hit his 15th homer along with 3 ribbies, Josh Hamilton hit 2 home runs with 5 RBI’s and Mark Trumbo hit his 20th bomb of the season.
Expect this to be a turning point for L.A. as they make their run for the pennant.
Tonight they start a relatively average pitcher in Jerome Williams (5-4, 4.16). Although Williams is average and doesn’t really throw heat, look for him to keep the Halos in the game and for the offense to do the rest against an overmatched Seattle team in which Williams actually has the advantage in starting pitching over Joe Saunders (7-8, 4.51).

Colorado Rockies (44-49) at Los Angeles Dodgers (46-45)
Picking Up Steam
Both Los Angeles teams are making huge runs as the Dodgers have won 8 out of their last 10 games and 5 straight. To top things off, they have the best pitcher in the majors in Clayton Kershaw (8-5, 1.89) starting for them tonight as he faces a lineup that contains the likes of Cargo, Cuddyer, and Rosario.
A Lucky Charm
I definitely attribute the Dodgers turnaround from Yasiel Puig being brought up from the minors. Los Angeles is coming off of a 6-1 victory over the Rockies and another 2 hit game for the enthusiastic Puig.
On the season, Puig is hitting .397 with 8 HR, 19 RBI, and 5 SB. He’s a Jose Reyes that has more power and is an asset, not a cancer, to the clubhouse. Puig has only had 147 at-bats, but he should definitely make the all-star team with the kind of impact that he’s had on L.A.
Kershaw faces a tough Rockies lineup with Carlos Gonzalez. Cargo hit a meaningless home run in the 9th inning of yesterday’s game, but he’s always a threat when he steps to the plate.
In his last 6 games, Cargo is 12 for 23 with 3 HR and 4 RBI. With Troy Tulowitzki back in the lineup and giving Cargo some protection, this lineup is dangerous.
Good luck, everyone! Have a great weekend!
