Sports handicapper Ian Cameron provides a look at MLB Overnight Betting Lines for the games taking place on Monday, August 1, and provides his expert opinion.

Washington Nationals vs Arizona Diamondbacks
Washington Nationals will be looking to extend their record to 18-2 in games with Stephen Strasburg on the mound when they face the struggling and downtrodden Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday night. Strasburg has had a revitalized season for Washington entering this game with a dominant record and a sparkling 2.68 ERA overall this season and it’s been even better than that on the road where he has a 1.72 ERA and Washington is 7-1 in his 8 road starts this season. He bounced back strong from a rare rough outing against the LA Dodgers to throw 7 strong innings of 3 hit, shutout baseball against the Cleveland Indians and I expect him to neutralize Arizona here.

On the flip side, Archie Bradley will get the nod for the Diamondbacks and he’s been a mixed bag all season long. Walks have really plagued Bradley in recent starts as he has allowed 16 walks in his last 5 starts combined. Arizona is 2-4 in his last 6 starts and Bradley has not pitched 7 innings more than once in his last 10 starts and that means the Diamondbacks bottom tier bullpen should see some time and allow the Nationals some chances to score runs late in this game. Washington is 30-23 on the road while Arizona has one of the worst home records in the Majors at 17-35. Six of Washington’s last seven wins have come by margins of 2 runs or more and that makes the Nationals MLB Odds on the run line an appealing option at a near even money price in this game. This early line makes for a solid MLB Pick.
