After perusing the MLB odds we have come up with a pair of gems in Wednesday night’s MLB picks. Let’s take a look at these matchups and get back to cashing.

Cubs (12-8, -1.6 units) At Pirates (8-12, -3.4 units)
  • Pittsburgh is 16-26 (-17.1 Units) in home games against division opponents over the last two seasons.
  • Pittsburgh is 40-54 (-20.2 Units) after a loss over the last two seasons.
  • Pittsburgh is 15-32 (-20.5 Units) in home games when playing against a team with a winning record over the last two seasons.
  • Pittsburgh is 2-8 (-7.7 units) in night games this season.
  • Chicago is 5-1 (+3.4 units) when the total is 8 to 8.5 this season.
  • Chicago is 7-2 (+4.0 units) as a road favorite of -125 to -175 this season.
  • Chicago is 4-0 (+4.0 units) on the road when the total is 8 to 8.5.
  • Chicago’s starter Jon Lester is 22-4 (+16.4 Units) in night games over the last two seasons. (Team's Record)

The MLB odds makers are making it difficult to back the Cubbies due to the heavy juice required in backing the visitors in this matchup. However, it’s not heavy enough as we have Lester upwards of -200 in this meeting with the slumping Pirates. The world champions are finally rolling, having won five of their last six and are facing young Tyler Glasnow (0-1, 7.94 ERA, 2.29 WHIP), who got murdered two weeks ago against the Cubs, allowing six runs on six hits in five innings of work. Ironically, he escaped with a W as the Bucs claimed an 8-7 win, but tonight will be different. Lester will mow this anemic Pittsburgh offense (27th) down and put another notch on his ever-expanding holster.

Nationals (14-6, +5.6 units) At Rockies (14-7, +8.0 units)
  • Colorado is 19-27 (-7.1 units) after allowing 10 runs or more over the past three seasons.
  • Colorado is 0-3 (-3.8 units) when playing on Wednesday’s this season.
  • Colorado’s starter Tyler Chatwood is 0-6 (-8.6 Units) at home when the total is 11 to 11.5 over the last two seasons. (Team's Record).
  • Washington is (+4.6 units) in road games this season.
  • Washington is 9-2 (+7.2 units) in night games this season.
  • Washington is 14-5 (+6.6 units) against right-handed starters this season.
  • Washington is 20-5 (+13.9 Units) in road games when playing on Wednesday over the last three seasons.

This is the third game of a four-game set between the division leaders, and the Nats have a slight pitching advantage with Tanner Roark (2-0, 3.65 ERA, 1.05) over the Rockies’ Tyler Chatwood (2-2, 4.10 ERA, 1.18 WHIP). Chatwood picked up the win in his last outing despite getting knocked around for seven hits on four runs in six innings by the Giants. The Nationals are ranked No. 2 in offense, trailing only the Diamondbacks, and should batter the Rockies in the offensive friendly confines of Coors Field. Include Washington in your MLB picks tonight.
