Mining the Diamond cashed two more winners last night and has swept its four MLB picks over the last two days as we head into Saturday. Let's look at the pitching matchups, historical trends and MLB odds as we cash two more premium plays today.

Giants (26-43, -18.9 units) vs. Rockies (44-26, +21.0 units)

* Colorado is 22-11 (+13.0 Units) against division opponents this season.

* Colorado is 20-8 (+13.2 Units) in day games this season.

* Colorado is 31-18 (+12.5 Units) against right-handed starters this season.

* Colorado is  26-17 (+11.6 Units) after a win this season.

* San Francisco is 2-11 (-9.9 Units) after allowing 10 runs or more over the last two seasons.

* San Francisco is 12-25 (-12.5 Units) in road games this season.

* San Francisco is 28-58 (-23.7 Units) in road games when playing against a team with a winning record over the last three seasons.

The only thing surprising about Colorado winning the first two games of this four-game set is the number of runs scored by the Giants. Yes, San Francisco has crept up to 28th place in runs scored, leapfrogging the Padres and Phillies, due to its 17 run outburst in their first two games against the Rockies in the thin air of Coors Field.  Yet it still wasn't enough to beat the NL West leaders as the Rockies are now 8-1 (+7.9 units) versus the Giants this season. We believe San Francisco's morale, as well as their offensive tank, has run dry and will be cannon fodder for the powerhouse Rox today with Matt Cain and his 7.54 ERA over his last three starts on the hill today for the Giants.

Although we normally don't back teams whose MLB odds are north of -150, the power ratings suggest Colorado should be a -315 favorite and we happen to agree, thus there is value even at this big price. Include the Rockies in your MLB picks today.

 Yankees (38-27, +7.5 units) vs. Athletics (29-38, -6.9 units)

* Oakland is 12-15 (-2.0 units) after a win this season.

* Oakland is 11-15 (-4.4 units) in day games this season.

* Oakland is 6-12 (-5.2 units) when the total is 9 to 9.5 this season.

* New York is 29-19 (+7.7 units) against right-handed starters this season.

* New York is 11-4 (+7.0 units) when the total is 9 to 9.5 this season.

* New York is 7-2 (+5.7 units) when playing on Saturday this season.

The Yankees have watched their AL East lead shrink to one game over the Boston Red Sox after dropping their last four, including the first two of this four-game set with Oakland. Both those losses came by one run but today will be different as their starter Masahiro Tanaka has an uncanny knack of putting away weak teams as evidenced by his stunning 15-1 (+13.6 Units) team record when playing against a team with a losing record over the last two seasons. And specifically, Tanaka is  3-1 with an ERA of 1.29 and a WHIP of 0.750 in his four career starts against Oakland.

Despite Tanaka's recent troubles and a season that has been far from vintage, his counter number Jesse Hahn is 0-2 when with an ERA of 5.40 and a WHIP of 1.200 in his pair of starts against the Yankees. We see the most potent offense in the league again putting up big numbers only this time they will come out on the winning end and snap their four-game drought. Back the road chalk here.
