Yesterday we connected on both of our MLB picks and now turn to Wednesday’s baseball betting slate. Let’s discuss our two top selections below and cash another pair of winners.

Dodgers (75-31, +28.3 Units) at Braves (48-57, +1.7 Units)
  • Atlanta is 23-32 (-2.1 Units) after a loss this season.
  • Atlanta is 23-26 (-2.7 Units) in home games this season.
  • Atlanta is 40-48 (-0.4 Units) against right-handed starters this season.
  • Los Angeles is 30-8 (+17.0 Units) after three or more consecutive wins this season.
  • Los Angeles is 37-11 (+18.3 Units) when playing against a team with a losing record this season.
  • Los Angeles is 11-5 (+5.0 Units) when playing on Wednesday this season.

They say there’s nothing sweeter than a repeater which is only one reason why we are backing Big Blue in our MLB picks tonight. Perhaps the most compelling argument is Atlanta’s starter Julio Teheran’s team record against the Dodgers over his career. The Braves are a hellacious 0-8 when starting against the Dodgers when the veteran righty is on the mound, who totes an ERA of 6.37 and a WHIP of 1.52 in those appearances. In addition, Teheran has been woeful at home this season with a 1-7 mark and an ERA of 7.05 in his 10 starts at Sun Trust Park.

Of course the MLB odds are a bit lower than usual on LA in this one due to the fact that they will be sending rookie Brock Stewart to the bump in only his second major league start. But that won’t deter us from fading Teheran and endorsing Los Angeles. The Dodgers have now won nine straight while the Braves have dropped their last six. Lay it and like it.

Mariners (55-53, -0.1 Units) at Rangers (50-56, -4.1 Units)
  • Texas is 5-11 (-7.6 Units) when playing on Wednesday this season.
  • Texas is 34-44 (-10.5 Units) in night games this season.
  • Texas is 2-5 (-3.5 Units) at home when the total is 11 to 11.5 this season.
  • Seattle is 101-80 (+12.8 Units) against right-handed starters over the last two seasons.
  • Seattle is 53-36 (+17.4 Units) in road games when playing against a team with a losing record over the last three seasons.
  • Seattle is 30-24 (+6.1 Units) after a win this season.

The Mariners’ starter Ariel Miranda won the only game he appeared in versus the Rangers last September when he pitched six full innings and allowed just three hits and no earned runs in Seattle’s 8-3 victory. In addition, his team record is 6-0 (+8.4 Units) in night road games this season which bodes well for his chances tonight.

On the flipside, Texas’ starter Andrew Cashner is 0-3 when starting against the Mariners and the Rangers have now dropped four straight while the M’s have won their last four and gunning for a series sweep over Texas. Seattle is 8-3 (+5.7 Units) against Texas this season and clearly has momentum on their side. Back the home pup here.
