We're going to be in for a unique World Series as Royals hold serve and take Game 1 against the Mets. In Game 2, there's a decisive betting edge with the total. Let's expose it with a free MLB pick.

Jacob deGrom vs. Johnny Cueto
What more needs to be said? If Johnny Cueto can pitch the way he did in Cincinnati and a majority of his career, a pitching duel is expected because Jacob deGrom is ever so reliable and where the pitching staff is concerned, would have to be considered the ace over Matt Harvey, who might have more pure talent.

This is a 7-game series, and New York will get to go home; a place where they rarely lose. If Jacob deGrom were to steal a game here, it would give the Mets a decisive edge in the series. If New York were to lose, the Royals would have the edge, holding serve, but the series would be far from over.

Very Evenly Matched Teams
Game 1 proved that we have very even teams here, as the game went into extra innings, both teams hit one run apiece, and also had 11 hits apiece, which influences the MLB odds we should consider here.

In the end, I still think that the Mets pitching will wear K.C.'s offense down. In Game 1, I was correct about Daniel Murphy, as I knew that he couldn't keep up this rapid pace. Murph didn't hit a dinger and was a respectable 2 for 7. I still think we haven't heard the last of the 2nd basement, but he's not going to hit a home run every game and he's lucky to hit 1 or 2 at best, and that's good to know, as we're assessing the total in Game 2.

I think Game 2 comes down to the pitching of Johnny Cueto. With Jacob deGrom, he doesn't have the career that Cueto has had because he's younger, but big things are expected. With Cueto, he's given Kansas City one great outing in the playoffs at a pivotal point in their series with the Houston Astros and has been a disaster for the entire season. This comes down to which Johnny Cueto we will see on October 28th?

Mr October?
What I didn't mention previously is that Cueto followed that spectacular outing against the Houston Astros on October 14th with a miserable outing against Toronto in which he allowed 8 runs on 6 hits in 2 innings.

In the month of October, Cueto is carrying a 7.88 ERA in 16 innings pitched. We still have to remember that this is a pitcher that dominated with the Cincinnati Reds before this season and has a career mark of 96-70 with a 3.30 ERA. I also know that the Mets bats can get cold in a hurry and the Royals don't possess a Mike Trout on their team.

I'm looking at another under the total for this MLB pick, as I always have faith in deGrom, especially in a game in which he must pitch well. Look for Cueto to redeem himself, as this could either come down to the bullpens or the Mets should pull this out in a low scoring affair.
