Matinee at the Bay
The Giants will host the Mets on Sunday at AT&T Park in San Francisco with the first pitch slated for 4:05 PM ET. According to MLB odds the Giants are a -135 money line home favorite and the posted total is 7.5. At the time of this writing, the Mets have gone 5-1 in their last 6-games at San Francisco. These teams have seen 6 of their last 8 meetings go over the total.

The Starting Pitchers
The Giants will send veteran right-hander Tim Lincecum to the mound this afternoon. Lincecum has gone a very profitable 6-1 in his last 7 team starts versus the Mets. He's also seen of his last 6 starts versus the Mets go under the total. The Giants hurler has gone a stellar 14-5 in his last 19 team starts overall. Lincecum is coming off a horrible start at Cincinnati last Tuesday. During that outing he allowed 8 earned runs in just 4 1/3 innings. The former National League all-start has seen his career steadily decline over the last few years, and he's a far cry from the dominant pitcher he once was.

The Mets counter with right-hander Zack Wheeler. He's displayed terrific form over his last 3 starts by posting a 1.37 ERA, a 0.76 WHIP, and an almost 8:1 strikeout to walk ratio. Unfortunately for the Mets they've gone just 2-8 in their last 10-games as a money line underdog when Wheeler is their starting pitcher. Wheeler has seen just 1 of his last 8 starts stay under the total when the Mets are a money line road underdog.

Mets on a Roller Coaster Ride
The Mets recent string of games has pretty much typified how it's gone during the early part of this season. Entering their game on Saturday night, they had lost 4-games in a row, and this current losing streak was preceded by them winning 6 of their previous 7. The Mets have actually been a tad better on the road than at home so far. They've gone 15-16 in away games, and just 13-17 at Citi Field in Flushing, New York. Today will be the finale of a marathon 11-game in 11-day road trip. Tomorrow will be their first off day since May 23rd.

Giants Playing Tremendous Baseball
The Giants entered last night's game having won 29 of their last 40-games overall, and that's vaulted them into a commanding lead in the NL West. They're an extremely profitable 21-6 in their last 27 home games when facing a right-handed starting pitcher. The Giants bullpen has been absolutely brilliant in all facets so far this season.

Final Analysis
I look for this one to play on the low side of the ledger. The Mets Wheeler has been terrific of late, and despite Lincecum's recent struggles he's had a good track history versus the Mets. One other important note, the home plate umpire is Alan Porter who's seen his last 8-games behind the dish all go under the total.
