Our MLB consultant breaks down Saturday’s AL West clash between the Angels and Mariners. Join us in reading this revealing MLB betting preview article that culminates with a money line pick.

Halos and Mariners at Safeco Field on Saturday Night
The Angels and Mariners will square off today for their third of a four game series at Safeco Field in Seattle. The first pitch is slated for 10:10 PM ET. These AL West rivals split the first two games. The Angels are 7-4 versus Seattle in 2015, and seven of those eleven totals stayed under.

Starting Pitchers
Veteran southpaw C.J. Wilson gets the start for the Angels this evening. He’s been in exceptional form during his previous four starts versus Seattle, posting a miniscule 0.96 ERA and 0.75 WHIP. Wilson has a respectable 3.52 ERA and 1.12 WHIP in eight road starts this season.

Seattle goes with a southpaw of their own on Saturday with Hisashi Iwakuma getting the start. Iwakuma recently returned from a two and a half month stay on the disabled list, and was shaky in that one start. He allowed 5 earned runs, 8 hits, and gave up four homers in 5.0 innings during a 12-5 blowout loss to Detroit. Iwakuma is 0-4 in his team starts this year with a large 7.17 ERA. Even more alarming is the 9 home runs he’s given up in only 21 1/3 innings pitched. He’s been extremely shaky in his last three starts (since 9/14/2014) versus the Angels by posting an unimpressive 7.47 ERA.

Surging Angels
The Angels have gone 6-1 in the last seven, and 10-2 during their previous twelve games. By virtue of first place Houston losing four in a row, they’ve closed to within one half game of the lead in the AL West. The Halos scored 7 runs or more in five of their last seven, averaged 7.9 runs in addition to 12.7 hits per game, and have a sizzling .336 team batting average during that time frame.

Final Analysis
I love the starting pitching edge of C.J. Wilson over Hisashi Iwakuma. The Angels are just crushing the ball of late, and that’s huge considering their opponents (Mariners) tonight have struggled offensively since start of this season. I like the road team in this divisional battle for one of my MLB picks on Saturday. The most favorable betting odds in that regard is at
