Join us in exploring those details that will influence the outcome in the Blue Jays vs. Mariners MLB game, and finding some betting value in the Baseball Odds Market.

Toronto Blue Jays (Happ) at Seattle Mariners (Young) (-110) 10:10 ET
10* Seattle (-110)

Each of the teams in tonight’s matchup has had a roller coaster season. Such is the case now, as I examine the recent momentum of tonight’s combatants. Fueled by a home/road dichotomy in the pitching mismatch, this selection is an absolute must to add to your wagering portfolio as an MLB betting pick for tonight. After you read the analysis, you will be suiting up to play with confidence.

This can only be termed the Momentum Mismatch Game of the Day. Do you remember two months ago, when the Blue Jay bats were banging out double-digit hits and scoring almost that many runs per game? It resulted in a streak of 21-4. Those hitting numbers eventually cooled resulting in a 13-25 dip. The bats heated up again for a short time, resulting in 9-1 Toronto dominance. But, in the last 10 games, Toronto has cracked the win column just 3 times while being outscored 55-27, or 5.2 to 2.7 RPG.

A streaky Seattle team is currently headed in the opposite direction, due in no small part to outstanding pitching. The Mariners are on a decent run of 36-25. More recently, that streak is 6-1 led by a pitching staff with a 1.83 ERA. Expect more of that excellence tonight from Seattle starter, Young. In 12 starts from this mound, Young has a 2.42 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and .191 BAA in 74 1/3 IP.

The numbers for Happ are dichotomous to that. Though pitching with decent numbers at home, Happ has worked 45 1/3 IP on the road with an inflated 5.16 ERA and 1.57 WHIP. Those recent streaks for each team have allowed Seattle (63-55) to pass Toronto (63-57) by two games in the loss column for the final Wild Card spot in the American League

It is noteworthy to identify those records due to the extreme parity that is occurring in MLB this season. Note that in the National League, 14 of 15 teams have a winning percentage of .427 to .555, while in the American League, 12 of 15 teams are playing between .444 and .576 baseball.

Prediction: The key to winning is identifying the hot and cold streaks that lead to 26 of 30 MLB teams hovering in a narrow range. Such is the case tonight, as we look for that momentum to continue in this home/road pitching mismatch and the Mariners to continue their winning ways.
