Clayton Kershaw could potentially wrap up the NL Cy Young and MVP Awards with a dominant performance Wednesday night, which provides the Los Angeles Dodgers a major edge over the San Francisco Giants.

It’s Getting Wild
San Francisco will wrap up one of the two National League Wild Card spots with one more win or a Milwaukee Brewers’ loss, as it looks to bounce back from a 4-2 defeat to Los Angeles as +116 road underdogs per MLB odds on Tuesday.

The Giants will be without the services of leadoff batter Angel Pagan for the rest of the year, which is important to consider when making your MLB betting predictions, as he’s been unable to move past a bulging disk in his back.

It’s important to point out that the club is a disappointing 12-21 versus teams with a winning record in the second half of the season.

Los Angeles has a magic number of one to capture the NL West crown, with the clubhouse being motivated to celebrate in front of its biggest rival at Dodger Stadium, while also improving Kershaw’s chances of picking up some serious hardware.

The Dodgers are worth backing in the futures market to win the NL pennant if outfielder Yasiel Puig continues to produce at the plate, as he entered last night’s game batting .383 with two home runs and six RBIs in his previous 11 contests.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the franchise is 4-5 as home favorites of -225 to -250, with the OVER going 5-4 in that situation.

Giants starting pitcher Tim Hudson (9-12, 3.52 ERA) will look to snap a personal three-game losing streak, as he comes off a 5-0 setback on the road to the San Diego Padres—giving up five runs (four earned) and seven hits over 4.1 innings of work.

The right-hander has the highest ERA (9.92) in September of any pitcher in the Majors with at least 15 innings pitched.

In his last four outings versus the Blue Crew, Hudson has compiled a 0-3 record and 5.85 ERA.

The Dodgers are worth home favorites with their ace on the hill, as Kershaw (20-3, 1.80 ERA) has proven victorious in his last six trips to the mound, including a 14-5 road victory over the Chicago Cubs last  Friday.

The left-hander is 9-2 with a 1.75 ERA in 13 home appearances, with opposing hitters batting .176 against him (.216 on the road).

In 24 lifetime efforts versus the Giants, Kershaw has produced a 13-5 record and 1.44 ERA, including a 2-0 mark and 1.88 ERA in three appearances this season.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Dodgers as one of their MLB picks, as the Giants have fallen in defeat in 20 of their last 27 games as an underdog.
