How are we going to beat the books on Wednesday? Our cappers have released their favorite picks for a good amount of today's MLB games, so let's get right to our daily odds report and see what they have to say.

Texas Rangers (Darvish) vs. New York Yankees (Phelps)
Covered by Ron Patrick
The Yankees got back on the winning side yesterday. They're still four games back of Baltimore though, so they need to keep picking up wins to maintain the pressure.

It's likely going to be hard for New York to get much going against Yu Darvish, who's 9-5 with a 2.88 ERA this season. David Phelps (4-4, 3.87 ERA) starts for the Yankees and Ron believes we'll witness a pitchers' duel.

MLB Pick: UNDER 7.5

Los Angeles Dodgers (Haren) vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (Liriano)
Covered by Willie Bee
It's as close as can be in the NL Central, where Milwaukee, St. Louis and Pittsburgh are separated by only 2.5 games. The Pirates were able to get after Josh Beckett last night and will try to inflict similar damage upon Dan Haren tonight.

With Francisco Liriano (1-7, 4.43 ERA) in the middle of a poor season, Willie sees no other option but to recommend the OVER with his MLB picks.

MLB Pick: OVER 7.5 (+100)

Baltimore Orioles (Tillman) vs. Los Angeles Angels (Weaver)
Covered by Willie Bee
So far the Angels have had trouble with the visiting Orioles, but maybe Jered Weaver can help the home team turn things around. Weaver has been pitching very well lately and is now 10-6 with a 3.43 ERA on the year.

And, even though Chris Tillman has been solid recently, Willie believes it's in our best interest to back Los Angeles on the run-line.

MLB Pick: Angels -1.5 (+130)

San Francisco Giants (Bumgarner) vs. Philadelphia Phillies (Burnett)
Covered by Jeff Grant
Madison Bumgarner had one of his better starts of the season his last time out and will look to keep it going in the City of Brotherly Love this evening. So far Bumgarner and the Giants have gone 28-19 on the road.

AJ Burnett (6-9, 4.08 ERA) has had his moments of brilliance despite some shaky overall numbers, and Jeff thinks we'll see a battle between him and Bumgarner. He's taking the UNDER.

MLB Pick: UNDER 7.5

Boston Red Sox (Buchholz) vs. Toronto Blue Jays (Dickey)
Covered by Jeff Grant
The good times couldn't keep going yesterday, as the Red Sox fell in Toronto. Nonetheless, Boston has done themselves a lot of favors with their play in recent weeks and could really use a quality start out of Clay Buchholz here.

That's going to be easier said than done for Buchholz, who's 5-5 with a 5.46 ERA in 2014. Still, Jeff likes the value that comes with backing the Red Sox on the road.

MLB Pick: Red Sox -105

Houston Astros (Peacock) vs. Oakland Athletics (Chavez)
Covered by Ross Benjamin
The Athletics, armed with the best record in all of baseball, will try to avenge a loss last night behind the arm of Jesse Chavez. Chavez is 7-6 with a 3.14 ERA so far this season.

For Houston, it'll be Brad Peacock (3-6, 4.39 ERA) taking the bump, so we shouldn't be taken aback by the sizable MLB betting odds that favor the home team. In order to get better value, Ross has opted to side with Oakland on the run-line.

MLB Pick: Athletics -1.5 (-125)

San Diego Padres (Kennedy) vs. Chicago Cubs (Wada)
Covered by Doug Upstone
Runs could be scarce tonight, as Ian Kennedy has been dealing for the Padres and Wada has looked the part in both the minors and in his limited action in the majors.

What kind of selection does Doug have in store for us tonight? He's going to put his faith in the Cubs at home, as they look to improve their record at Wrigley Field to an even 22-22.

MLB Pick: Cubs -115
