José Altuve and the Astros have been mind-boggling on the Road so far this 2017 MLB Regular Season, and pretty darn good at Home and against their fellow AL West mates, but on Monday night, Houston will see a red-hot Seattle team head into Minute Maid Park for Game 1 of a three-game AL West series.

MLB Odds Overview

Seattle Mariners at Houston Astros (ASTW, ROOT-NW, Directv 687 (US), 8:10 pm ET): Lance McCullers Jr. and the Houston Astros (62-30) welcome lefty Ariel Miranda and the Mariners (46-47) to Minute Maid Park in Houston on Monday night for Game 1 of a 3-game AL West series. Sportsbooks currently have Houston big -211 (BetOnline) Home chalks over Seattle (+195) -- after opening at -201 on Sunday afternoon -- with the Total opening at 8½o (-125, BetOnline), then being bet up to 9 Offshore. The Run Line market sees the Astros -1½ +115 and the visiting Mariners +1½ runs at -105 (BetOnline) while the First 5-Inning market has a Total of 3½u -113 (Pinnacle).

Seattle Mariners

The Mariners (100/1 to win World Series, BookMaker) and Manager Scott Servais head to the Lone Star State winners of 4 straight -- and now just 1 game under .500—after sweeping the White Sox in Chicago, Sunday with an 7-6 win -- to start the 2nd Half of the MLB Regular Season at 3-0. In the victory on Sunday, M’s Manager Servais had a Starting Lineup of: SS Segura, 1B Valencia, 2B Canó, DH Cruz, 3B Seager, CF Heredia, RF Gamel C Zunino , LF Motter with RHP Andrew Moore getting the baseball. Seattle (19-25 on Road) saw Nelson Cruz win the game with a solo shot in the T10 at Guaranteed Rate Field in the Windy City in a series sweep in which the M’s only outscored Chicago, 15-11.

Seattle (33/1 to win AL, Bovada) is 6-1 L7 Mondays, 7-0 L7 Miranda Game 1 Starts and an impressive 9-3 L12 Game 1’s of a series. The Over is 12-5-1 L18 Game 1’s but the Mariners (439 RF-440 RA) Under Trends dominate here: 10-1 L11 vs. Starters with WHIP under 1.15, 4-0 L4 vs. a RHP Starter, 5-0 L5 overall while the Under is 7-3-1 L11 Miranda Starts overall.

Houston Astros

José Altuve and the Astros (5/1 to win World Series, Sportsbetting.ag) have the second-best Record in MLB (62-30), but have actually been a better team on the Road (33-11) than here at Home at Minute Maid Park (29-19). Oh well. On Sunday in the rubber Game 3 against Minnesota, Houston Manager AJ Hinch went with a Starting Lineup of: RF Springer, 2B Altuve, RF Reddick, C McCann, 1B Yuli Gurriel, SS Gonzalez, 3B Bregman, LF Aoki, CF Marsnick with Mike Fiers starting and whiffing a season-high 11 K’s in 7.0 IP. The Astros (7-3 L10) saw Nori Aoki have 2 Hits and 2 RBIs as Houston took the series (HOU -195, 9½o -115, 5Dimes).

Carlos Beltrán and Houston (+175 to win AL, Bovada) are 7-1 their L8 Monday games, 58-26 L84 overall (69%), 72-33 L105 vs. Teams with Losing Records and 19-7 in McCullers Jr’s L26 Grass Starts. The Astros have been the second-most (LA +20.8 units) profitable team on which to bet in MLB to date, up a healthy 20.3 units. The Under is 20-7 L27 McCullers Grass Stars and 19-7-2 L28 Astros Monday games but the Over is 9-2-1 L21 Houston games overall.

Trends, Analysis & Picks

The Mariners -- 16½ games back of the Astros entering play on Monday -- are 1-3 L4 meetings in this series and 3-8 L11 in Houston while the Under is 5-0-1 L6 McCullers Jr. Starts vs. Seattle. M’s southpaw Miranda (7-4, 4.15 ERA) is 0-2 with a 5.00 ERA in 2 Starts vs. Houston (544 RF-377 RA, +167 RD) this season while McCullers Jr. (7-2, 3.05 ERA) -- who hasn’t given up a HR since May 28 -- allowed a season-high 9 Hits in 4.1 IP against the Blue Jays his last start.

With this MLB series having totally been dominated by Altuve, George Springer, Carlos Correa and the Astros (1.24 WHIP, #3 MLB) lately, with Houston 7-3 against the M's this season (8-3 L11 in H-town) and with the Trends pointing toward the Under (at 9) and these two fairly decent Starters, backing that and the host Astros to try to win for equal amounts seems like the wisest approaches here on Monday night.

Predicted Final Score: Astros 5, Mariners 3Free MLB Picks: Astros -202 & 'Under' 9Best Line Offered: Pinnacle
