Sportsbooks are quickly lowering the odds for Julio Rodriguez to be the AL Rookie of the Year. We look at where the best value remains on Rodriguez in the MLB future market.

Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez appears to have turned the corner recently at the plate going 11-for-35 with a .368 on-base percentage through his past 10 games.

While the power is still lacking, and Rodriguez has a single home run for the campaign, his 10 stolen bases pace the majors.

The value window to wager on Rodriguez to win the American League Rookie of the Year Award could close in a hurry.

The Case for Julio Rodriguez as AL Rookie of the Year

Considering his power pedigree in the minors, and his improved plate discipline, Rodriguez’s outlook for the rest of the 2022 season is promising.

After all, he posted a .184 ISO and .448 wOBA across 206 plate appearances at Double-A last year, and his strikeout percentage during the noted 10-game stretch is 23.7% compared to his 37.8% mark through his first 18 games of the campaign.

It’s also worth highlighting Rodriguez batted third during Seattle’s 2-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday.

Tampa Bay started southpaw Ryan Yarbrough, so if Rodriguez can move closer to the heart of the order against lefties it would be another step in the right direction for his AL Rookie of the Year promise.

A permanent move to the middle of the Seattle lineup might just be in store anyway.
