This is a good day to play, if you will, so let's get right to it. We're looking to go undefeated tonight in our MLB picks and lend the bettor a helping hand.

Seattle Mariners vs. Los Angeles Angels

King Felix vs. The Halos
I would like to to start this off by saying that the Angels organization should spend some money to provide Mike Trout suport. Although Trout is now the 2nd best player in the league, in my opinion, to Bryce Harper, he has no support on his respective team and it surely doesn't help.

Trout was off to a super-slow start this season, but has managed to get his average up to .283 with 2 HR and 6 RBI. He strikes out a ton of times and against Felix Hernandez, it won't get easier.

The Angels are a team led by Kole Calhoun. Calhoun had a strong 25 home runs season last year and is hitting 2 HR, 7 RBi, and a .311 BA. He's basically keeping this team afloat with player such as Albert Pujols, who can't even hit his weight.

This is Pujols' worst stretch to start off the season ever. He's hitting a mere .138; that's in Adam Dunn territory. I don't expect him to "pick it up" against the King.

The Best Pitcher in the AL in the Last Decade
This is Felix Hernandez as he's been on a rotten team for all of these years, but has been rewarded handsomely moneywise. You think with Hernandez and the dynamic duo of Robinson Cano (6 HR, 14 RBI, .246 BA) and Nelson Cruz (3 HR, 10, .270) that the M's would be better than this. Cano made the biggest mistake of his career leaving New York's short right field porch.

I like the under in this game and the MLB odds boards are offering some some great value at 7 runs as both offenses are underachieving and obviously the pitching is above average.

New York Mets vs. Atlanta Braves

Steven Matz's Upside
Just like everyone expected; the Atlanta Braves are starting to collapse at 4-12. The Mets on the other hand, except for Matt Harvey, are finally starting to pick it up. Can they beat the Chicago Cubs in the post season. Time will tell.

For now, they have a very easy matchup on the road with Steven Matz (1-1, 7.27). Matz is a player with a very hgh upside. He was 4-0 last season and don't let his record or ERA fool you. It's a small sampling. Matz will have a very nice opportunity tonight to get on track as he faces this patchetic bottom-feeder. The Braves might very well be the worst team in baseball.

The Mets are only 8-7, but are 6-3 on the road and will improve as the season progresses.

Fantastic Pickups
I thought Neil Walker had a chance to be a good player on this team, but he (6 HR, 11 RBI, .290 BA) and Asdrubal Cabrera (3 RBI, .315 BA) have exceeded my expectations. Obviously, Walker needs to pick up a walk and Cabrera needs to flash some power, but Mets management has to be happy with these two players as they're the top two hitters on this team and this is a team that sport's players such as Yoenis Cespedes and David Wright.

Although I do expect Curtis Granderson to come back down to earth tonight, the Mets will win this game quite easily and I'm backing that as my MLB pickl.
