Our resident MLB handicapping professional provides us with an MLB pick pertaining to Saturday’s game between the Mariners and Angels. Join us in reading this extremely informative piece that finalizes with his selection.

Mariners and Angels AL West Battle in Anaheim
A couple of AL West rivals will have at it on Saturday when the Angels entertain the Mariners at 7:15 PM ET. This will be the second of a three-game set, and the Mariners won the series opener on Friday 3-1. The Angels are 4-3 versus Seattle this season, and five of the seven games went under the total.

Starting Pitchers
The Mariners J.A. Happ will get the start on Saturday. Happ is 0-3 in his last three team starts and has displayed terrible form during those outings. In those three starts, he posted a lofty 6.08 ERA and a huge 1.95 WHIP. The Mariners hurler has made three career starts versus the Angels with all of those coming since 2013, and compiled a mammoth 9.83 ERA and 2.37 WHIP. Despite the 7:15 PM ET start, this is considered to be a day game in Anaheim. Happ has gone 1-6 in his team starts during day games this year, posting a poor 6.34 ERA, and large 1.78 WHIP.

The Angels Garrett Richards will be on the mound today. Richards has displayed very good form over his last three starts with a shining 2.25 ERA and 1.10 WHIP. The Angels right-hander has gone 5-1 in his home team starts this season, compiling a very good 2.23 ERA and 1.09 WHIP. Since 8/23/2013, Richards has made four starts versus Seattle and he’s been lights out, evidenced by his microscopic 0.61 ERA in those outings.

Final Analysis
Despite Friday’s win, the Mariners have a paltry team batting average of only .220 in their last seven overall, and are just a tad better during 34 road games in 2015 at .225. As a matter of fact, Seattle possesses a .231 team batting average for the season. That’s a significant number, since the Angels are 48-24 at home since 2014 when facing an opponent that’s hitting .260 or less on the year. I like the home team to win this game decisively tonight, and I’ll be making a run-line wager as one of my MLB picks. After shopping for the best price regarding the run-line, it was 5Dimes which received my call.

MLB Pick: Angels -1.5 (+145) on the run-line at 5Dimes.
